It took the Sedin’s time to become the players they eventually did. Love the daily negativity I see towards Laf and Kakko.
Yeah that is true. I wonder if there's something there where the Rangers can retain on Phil, as part of the transaction.Important to note that they can only retain on one more player. Retention would likely have a big difference in what they can get for Kessel too.
I would hope the rangers don’t trade KAM. Just my two cents.
Totally agree. Trading him for Chych makes less than zero sense from my point of view.I would hope the rangers don’t trade KAM. Just my two cents.
They also produced more and got less ice time than Laf and Kakko and somehow weren't destroyed by it.It took the Sedin’s time to become the players they eventually did. Love the daily negativity I see towards Laf and Kakko.
Chytil, Lundkvist, Robertson, Othmann, Berard, other picks, not Zac Jones, even Schneider if it came down to it. I know some of those names will draw some ire but they are still there as trade chips if needed. My only fear is moving those pieces for a d man leaves you what to move for a forward?
Hope everything is ok with Nemeth.
Or maybe he's been terrible because he's battling something personally.maybe he realizes he is terrible and is debating on quitting?
but yeah on a serious note, hope he is ok.
That is some sneaky shit and I like it.Yeah that is true. I wonder if there's something there where the Rangers can retain on Phil, as part of the transaction.
Go look at their PP numbers, 31.They also produced more and got less ice time than Laf and Kakko and somehow weren't destroyed by it.
We have so much cap space that we could certainly get a couple of assets by retaining some rental money, for sure. Being that middleman team.
But I doubt they'd do it.
The great majority of the high dollar rentals will go at 50%. That’s what selling teams do. The outlier here is Vegas, which will likely need to move cap dollars as opposed to selling a rental.
Giroux is interesting for a couple of reasons:
1) He has a NMC so that will more than likely rule out a few teams who MAY have interest
2) His cap hit is HUGE, so this will also dwindle the market of teams even remotely possible
3) He mainly plays RW now
I’m okay with it because he’s still strong on the draw even if he doesn’t play center a ton. He could go RW on the Zib or Bread line and bring a lot of punch and veteran savvy as a rental. We are one of few teams that can take on the cap hit, etc. He can take key draws though which is nice.
I am not super hot on going after a bigger priced rental, but if you are, I think he is the guy that makes the most sense.
What do people think the cost would be?
I think the Rangers have to put Miller in the deal to get Chychrun. I'm personally not opposed to that. If they did agree to move Miller, the add probably wouldn't be two additional high value pieces. I don't think Nils+Kravtsov+1st gets it done.
I'm not hot on Kessel. At this point in his career, he's a playmaker, not a shooter. Ther Rangers really don't need that. And the prices he will command (at least a #2) can be better spent elsewhere. Someone will eventually trade for Kessel (Pittsburgh or Minnesota)
If Miller is the cost for Chychrun I'm not opposed as long as the rest of the add is minimal (ie a second).
Then other seconds and thirds and Hajeks and Gauthiers for Lekkonen types and call it a wrap.
I think Miller+ for Chychrun is a risk worth taking. Obviously the plus is important in this conversation and so is the aspect of retention. Would Miller+Kravtsov+1 or something to that effect be enough to get them to retain or is that something that they would need just to make the trade happen without retention? It's an important question.
6. It’s grind time for Jakob Chychrun. There are several teams going hard at this. Florida is there for sure, but I'm not convinced they want to move Anton Lundell. I think Columbus is there. Anaheim, Boston and Carolina have been there. I suspect Colorado is in stealth mode. No doubt there are others. My sense is Los Angeles and the Rangers are out for now -- weird stuff happens, you never know. But we’re past the fact-finding stage and we’ll see when it closes.
2:20 and 2:36 per game in their first three seasons. Compared to 1:42 for Kakko and 1:20 for Laf. Definitely more, but I'm sure they would have gotten their PP time cut too if they went hundreds of minutes without a PP point.Go look at their PP numbers, 31.
who is running these practices? How is this priority?
