3-team trade involving AZ.

Vancouver retains 50% on Miller
AZ retains 50% on Garland.

Chytil, Kravstov, Nils, Reunanen, 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick as the assets being sent out
It would take a lot more than that to get both at 50%. Garland has another 4 years on his contract.

Fair. Maybe the picks move up a round and you add another prospect to AZ side of the deal. AZ has so much cap space next year. They have a chance at Wright and then Bedard the following season. They dont need the cap space to ice a competitive team. I’m just not sure who the other prospect is. And we need to break it down for each team/player. Its a complicated scenario, but AZ’s situation could help pull it off.

Lekhonen should have been a Ranger already. How much could he possibly cost? Hajek and 2nd? add Gauthier?

So the All Star break ends on Monday the 7th with 2 NHL games resuming....but the Ranger's first game back isn't till the 15th? Why is our break so long? Are all the games from the 7th-14th make up games or something?

I don’t know, but we will go into the break with the most games player of any team, like 4-6 more than many, it looks like.

Presumably we've had less games postponed.

The break was initially designed for the Olympics. Then with covid the break became a place for the nhl to make up games, the rangers only had 3 games ppd I believe, as we never had a large amount of players out.

Weird flex.

Vegas locking up three depth players, mid-season. McNabb, Thompson, Amadio.

Gearing up for a cap move so Eichel can join the team?

Usually, you see this behavior before the July UFA drop, pre-UFA signing cap space trade.

Makes sense to pull the deal before the 2 week break to aclimate any new additions.

The obvious link to us is Gallant and any player he may have inclinations to push for. Coaches do it all the time. Ex: Keenan with Matteau, Noonan, etc...

Huh? Garland is on Vancouver, not Arizona anymore
Or are you saying they flip him back to Arizona and they retain and then flip him to us? Pretty sure that’s cap circumvention lol

That is what i meant. Is it cap circumvention? If so then VAN retains on Garland and AZ retains on Miller

Pretty sure this has been done a few times. I think Pittsburgh traded for a laundered Brassard at one point.

Edit: Misread that. Yes, being traded and sent back retained is sure to be some sort of circumvention I would imagine.

If AZ retained on Miller, it would be actual dollars they have to pay right? Not like other IR players who just eat cap without getting paid. I doubt they're in a position to actually pay extra real dollars.

Not sure what Miller’s contract terms are in terms of structure, bonuses, etc. But Miller is only signed through next season. I think Arizona can handle $2-$2.5 million for next year only.

Didn't they come within hours of getting locked out of their own arena because they kept defaulting on payments? I don't remember the details, but I know their financial situation is pretty dire. Maybe Dolan can hire the Arizona owner's grandkid to fetch his coffee for the next year and a half at an entry-level salary of ~$5m? :)

Should have been traded awhile ago. What a garbage teammate.
This can’t be some inside joke. It just cant be. This looks like a disgruntled little egotistical bitch that doesnt know his place. He legit probably thinks he is a better goalie than Igor and cannot understand why they dont at least split the games 50/50. He barely makes eye contact as he dabs Igor. Everyone else is smiling. Georgiev is not.
