If I'm Laf I'm begging Gallant to play me at RW, I mean if it's that much of an issue he shouldn't have been #1 overall and everybody I mean everybody got it wrong. I'm a big believer in him that he will be a big time player but he's so humble, he needs to see this RW hole as an opportunity and grab it. Make management feel that he is worth holding on to. Otherwise have fun playing in a blackhole like Vancouver or Arizona. I'd much rather play my offside for a winner than play my strong side for a perennial loser.

I'd only trade Laf for Shane Wright at this point, though the drafting team would never do that. lol

I wouldn't trade him for Wright. This season has been a big letdown for Wright, all things considered. If Lafreniere was draft eligible this year, he's the number 1 pick based off juniors resumes.

Could Rangers possibly get Scheifele from Winnipeg?

Lafreniere, Chytil and Lundkvist for Scheifele ?

Then they can move Strome before the deadline

Scheifele is a proven goal scorer who should mesh well with Panarin

God no.

Schiefele is an awful defensive player. Lafreniere for Schiefele straight up is a no.

I doubt Winnipeg does something that drastic

Copp and Stastny would help a lot though

This is inane.....

I just took a look at the Habs depth chart, hoping that they had roster/prospect depth at the C position. If that were the case, perhaps they’d be open to swapping the C for the Quebecois LW.

Sadly, their C pool isn’t looking very good.

I would be very happy if we could come away with Miller, Copp, and Leddy at the deadline. That would be the ideal 3 acquisitions imo.

Habs have nothing good to trade, even Caufields value has gone down. Suzuki is their only positive point.

If the Jets ever sell and Scheifele or PLD become available, you back up the truck. They're both the exact type of players you go all in on and overpay for - especially with Scheifele's contract. Both would be worth giving up 4-5 pieces to make happen. Have to imagine that K'Andre, Lundkvist, Kravtsov and a 1st - at the least get them to pick up the phone.

The Rangers were gifted the first overall for the first ever, if they trade Laf for anything other than a star, my fandom will not be in a good place
I mean. Yeah. But what if the Habs, for whatever reason, prefer Laf to Wright/Savoie? Or Bedard next year (unlikely). This whole LW and being buried on the depth chart thing doesn’t seem to be going away…

Trading Laf is a non-starter, no matter how we view his development at this point.

He is on an ELC and because of our non-moveable commitments to Kreider and Trouba, we are unable to take anything in return other than another player who will be on an ELC.

How many players on ELCs have Laf’s impact right now? Will that be the same three seasons from now?

If Laf is going to remain on the third line for the foreseeable future, how much impact will he actually have? We’re all, or mostly all, complaining about his lack of impact.

If there’s no plan to move Kreider or Panarin, or to have Laf switch positions, it is absolutely reasonable to table offers for other prospects who fill a position of need.

Is this ideal? Hell no. I want stud Laf in this team’s top 6 forever. But there seem to be many obstacles to that end state.
