Adam Fox won't sign with Carolina and will play out his senior year at Harvard. Let's GO!!!

I honestly wish he wouldn't be confirmed to go back to school next year. If all we knew was that he wasn't signing, I'd be more intrigued. As it is, I'll wait until next year to be intrigued.

Not sure why they'd trade for his rights unless he is going to de-commit and sign right away.

gorton has to get that Fox kid. That’s gotta be a serious play. DeAngelo and Fox on the right side is a heck of a duo.
DeAngelo, Fox, Nils down the right and K'Andre or Byram ;), Skjei/Hajek, Lindgren/Rykov down the left. Now that's something to look forward to. Not even counting other possibilities like Tarmo/Keane and other picks coming from 2019.

I guess unless Gorton feels he might be interested in playing with some other teams from the northeast??? would give us a head start in signing him I guess ?

Gorton has no reason to trade for Fox. He can just wait until after August 15, 2020 to sign the player. Sounds like Fox wants to finish school and then turn pro.

Fox' value just dropped to an all-time low after saying he wants to test free agency. No GM is going to trade for his rights now

Did anyone mention that Fox is a Rangers fan? I’d bet we get him

Been wondering - is there a rule against signing with a pro club and staying in school? Does it nullify your NCAA status on a college squad? You'd think there'd be a way to sign someone effective a year in the future or something. Kinda sucks to lose a draft pick to time.

Would you trade a 4th for Fox right now?

Would be nice to have him in the system now and to ensure it is a sure thing of him being here rather than just counting on it

Once he signs a pro contract, his NCAA eligibility is done.

A 4th? Absolutely, but there's no way Carolina would. They can get better than that for his rights, and I doubt they'll be looking to trade him right now. They'll probably keep trying to convince him to sign and then only trade him next summer when/if it becomes apparent that he won't sign with them.

I guess something like a 4th would make some sense, at least then no other teams could talk to him until he reached UFA status, which hopefully he would not do as he can sign as soon as his senior year is up and he graduates, and I think could still burn an ELC year.

He’d only be eligible for a 2 year ELC in that case.

I’ll pay a bit extra for the additional year.
I think a 4th is already a discount on what his rights are probably worth (Vesey’s got a 3rd for just an extra few weeks), so I’m fine giving that up for over a year’s worth of trying to get him under contract

I'd trade a 2nd for Fox if he could be signed today and not think twice about it.

Extra year of him on an ELC totally worth.

Wouldn’t go that far but in the event he would sign, a 3rd would be fair.

Could see it being a part of a bigger deal, maybe kreider for fox and their 1st?
