Look, im not trying to be a dick, even though I come across that way sometimes, I just want the team to win like everyone else and I think it takes a compliment of players, youth and veterans. There's no magic involved with the cap. It's just math. Saying they'll figure it out later is just turning a blind eye to the issue.
Regardless, Drury traded Buch rather than pay him and then trade him a year later. That was management's answer to this issue. Saying they can now add Kane and figure it out later flies in the face of what they have already done.
Are you honestly going to tell me that you'd rather have Kane at 25 or 50% rather than Buch and the boatload of assets it will take to get Kane at that price? What exactly are you prepared to give up for Kane? Because it's going to take a lot.
Again, they will figure the cap out with respect to Kane, if that is in fact the route they plan to go, and as far as the Buch trade is concerned, I think it was a huge mistake, then and now because it is the exact position we are weakest, but that is water under the bridge. Most people often overlook the fact that the guy we traded for has been out for the vast majority of the season and we have no idea what Sammy might have contributed. Also, we really don’t have any idea what Kane might cost.
