Are you drunk man?? 😂 he wins most his fights
And those aren’t even counting the many scrums where he gets the better of opponents like when he beat the shit out of Scvechnikov recently, same to Ekblad. He is tough! And he is a funny guy
Domi is "after the whistle tough". We need someone who is tough to play against, not someone who gets into scraps after the whistle.

Kane I bet will not be in play until next year’s TDL at the earliest or maybe as a UFA. Just the hunch I get, he has multiple rings and loves Chicago. I went to a game a few weeks back where he was the first star and literally got on the PA mic to tell the fans how much he loves playing for the Hawks.

Toews on the other hand sounds like he will be moved, maybe this summer. Not sure it makes sense for the NYR but that would be more realistic to think about in the near term. But he’s having a rough year, even at 50% not sure it’s a fit.

Kane's the big move that I make if there is one. Bet you he'll sign for 2 or 3 more years at a fair price after making his money with Chicago. Pay Arizona a pick and a prospect to eat an additional 50% and Chicago also to eat cap next year.
So, how much are you willing to pay for Kane? And who do you envision playing 2C for us next year?

Theoretically speaking, we'd need a Hartman type. Goodrow could fill in. Nick Paul?

The way the team is constructed, we just need some solid 2way centers that can skate.

I do not think it'd be worth the price of admission..

He'll retire if he's smart. He's toast at this point.

I'd trade for Toews before Kane.

He's finally getting back into things. He's the perfect fit.

I am warming up to Patrick Kane. Get a 3rd team to retain a little salary as well. We have the extra picks to make that retention get to where we want it for next season.

Kane and Copp as the deadline acquisitions. Maybe Leddy if we can swing it.

Kreider-Zib-Laf
Panarin-Strome-Kane
Vatrano-Copp-Kakko
Goodrow-Rooney-Reaves/Hunt

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Leddy/Giordano-Schneider
I love this!

Pagnotta on sirius this saturday afternoon. The panel just discussed the Rangers. Says they very much like Copp. Said it sounds like they had an offer out there for Giroux, so maybe they pivot to something else of that nature. Then mentioned Patrick Kane.

They also said, the Rangers org is tough to get anything out of. They are tight lipped.

I guess it does make sense to talk about Kane if we made a serious offer for Giroux. There's that group of young players, I guess Chytil, Nils and Kravtsov, where if the organization doesn't really believe in them it's not like they're going to be worth more next year

There's room for a modestly priced 2C ($5 ish million), and Kane at 2.5 million for next season if the Rangers pay Chicago and another team (Arizona) to eat cap for 2022-23 if you also bridge Kakko and Miller.

This. I can't like this post enough. Going for the big fish this season trade wise would be a big mistake and it'd be very short-sighted. They aren't deep enough to make a long run and no trade will help them get there without gutting their prospect pool and draft picks. Without Shesterkin, this team is out of the playoff chase, or maybe just barely hanging on in the race and the front office would be looking to sell. Depth scoring isn't there; they need Lafreniere, Kakko, Chytil to take the next steps to become impact players. Still need a couple more pieces, we all know what they are; best to go after those this offseason.

Getting to the playoffs is great (just don't get embarrassed in the first round Lol), winning a series would be better; beyond that would be a bonus.
Who says 2C's with term will be falling off trees this offseason? Everyone acting like we need to save every assest for "the offseason". Then it will become, "save all the assets for cheaper guys at the deadline!" We have a great young goalie playing great. He's part of the team. We have Kreider on a career year. And Panarin and Zib. Why not improve the team. And that doesn't mean trade ALL the assets. No need to make it all or nothing. But we can't use everyone. We're at least two more seasons form MAYBE being able to move Kreider or Trouba. Winning a couple rounds would be a huge thing for the younger players.

Pagnotta feels for Patrick Kane, it would be between the Avs and Rangers. Rangers have their 1st round pick, which can be a difference maker in talks.

Acknowledges Chicago needs to retain money on the contract for next season.

It would be tough for Colorado to compete with a package for Kane. Rangers have cap space remainder of this year. Colorado has it with Landeskog on IR right now but he could return before season’s end, which be a problem with the cap. He says the NHL is watching COL closely and other teams with the cap.

Kane doesn't win faceoffs and doesn't do board battles.

If you want to sell jerseys and make headlines, that's a move. But from a substance point of view, how does he make the team better/strengthen deficiencies?

The price to acquire Kane at %50, and to pay another team to retain 25%, is going to be extremely high. And unless the cap goes up significantly in 23-24 (doubtful) or we trade Trouba while he's still on his NMC (doubtful), we won't have the space to re-sign him.
