If I was the producer I would've really given Valley a piece of my mind after he made those Schneider comments. The fanbase was already on edge because of the bad performance and they can't suffer through a loss, and he brought the anxiety up to 11/10 to steal a line from Spinal Tap.

The Metro is going to be a blood bath in the playoffs. The Rangers can't handle high octane team this year such as Carolina, Florida, Vegas. Calgary is more of a hybrid.

Which is why time and time again you can only go so long in the playoffs without running into one of those teams from either the Metro or Atlantic. Going all in is a terrible idea. Slight add/enhancements are fine.

He shouldn't have mentioned a specific player. Talking about the Rangers needs is one thing but let's remember that this is the guy who basically guaranteed Eichel being a Ranger as well. He needs to turn it down a notch and stop name dropping things that aren't necessarily even being considered.

I have come to like Vally a lot. But last night he got a little ahead of himself. At the same time its whatever. If anything what he did is fire up the fan base and generate more discussion.

I think you have to hope Lundkvist lights up the AHL between now and the trade deadline so that he could be a centerpiece for someone like Chychrun.

Here’s a fun one for the offseason. One of my top priorities would be signing Brendan Smith. The fact that they signed Tinordi over him was a mistake. Demote Tinordi, trade Hajek, sign Smith.

No they are going to have multiple teams interested and trading him to the Rangers would be a last resort option. They will still charge the Rangers more. And the point still stands that Giroux disappears for stretches.

Nemeth is the whipping boy because he is a subpar defenseman. In the beginning of the year he was getting by blocking a lot of shots. As time has gone here it is been more obvious that he struggles mightily handling the puck. He is not sure-handed and he cannot move the puck up the ice effectively. Its not that we are “kid crazy”, its that we are not moving the puck up the ice effectively enough as part of the transition game leading to more offensive play and less defensive play.

Chychrun is on a team friendly contract for the foreseeable future. He is more than just a PP defenseman like Yandle was. He plays a strong game all around. Lindgren either gets moved eventually OR he slots down to the 3LD and Chychrun slots in with Fox.

That is incredibly strong back end moving forward, at least for this year and next. After the 2022-2023 season you may need to move Lindgren or Trouba. But for 2 playoff runs you have a solid group in front of Igor.

I don't see why they would trade Schneider. It doesn't make any sense. They moved up to get him, and he's up now to stabilize the third pair plus out of all of the RHD prospects he's looked the best by a mile.

They don't have anyone like him in their system.

The Rangers drafted 8000 LHDs during the rebuild. They also are going to have cap limitations next year.

They don't need another LHD, they need other more fiber/speed up front with offense.

I could see the logic there. It doesn’t solve the center ice problem but that may be an off-season solution anyways.

We have other assets we can move. Schneider should be a keeper.

Regardless of how quickly Laf/Kaako develop people need to realize this is not the year to win a the Cup.

Remember for the last core the question always was how good are JT Miller/Fast/Lindberg going to be and will that put the Rangers over the top?

It is essential that one of Berrard/Othmamn/Cullye exceeds expectations and makes a big impact on the roster. I'd say at minimum 2/3 need to make it, and 1/3 has to make a huge impact.

agreed but I’d also keep Lundkvist
the team has control over the next few years

they can trade Trouba and insert Lundkvist full time. Gotta be patient . Lundkvist will also get back in

I think that’s why I’m intrigued a bit. He may never be a top-line center but perhaps he could come in and develop into a 3C. That’s a value unto itself and it’s not like the Rangers have a ton of options there…
