The dark side of what they don’t tell you about nationalized healthcare. Glad you were able to get in to one of the 10 MRI machines in Canada.

Sounds like Canada just sucks at health care. I did my knee mountain biking and was getting an MRI within 4 hours of arriving at emergency in an ambulance. X-ray, MRI and a tonne of painkillers set me back exactly $0. Of course that was pre-covid, right now I'd probably just be left in the parking lot with how overwhelmed the system is...

Not so much sucking as rationed I believe

Although I don't hate the idea of adding Chychrun, I will certainly be pissed if we turn around and trade Key for JT. I understand it would maybe signal an end to Key here, but I'd rather move him for another Center. I gotta imagine if Lundell is maybe on the table for Chychrun that you could find a way to headline a package with Key for Lundell.

I imagine if Key is traded, it will be for Chychrun, not Miller.

Miller isn't getting Key. He may squeeze out a Nils, but it won't be any more than that.

I have to assume Chychrun privately demanded a trade. I cannot see the rationale behind moving a 23 year old cost controlled top pair dman. And his game clearly has suffered this year.

but if I did have to trade him I’d be demanding KAndre Miller in return as the main part of the package

so like I said I don’t really get it. Other than Drury saying I want a lights out top 4 and I want to win THIS year.

One thing to note about Jacob Chychrun. Earlier in the thread there was a few comparisons to Trouba. Chychrun isn't an overly physical player. Dosn't throw the body like Trouba does. His father was an absolute bruiser, played for the Flyers. Fed Bobby Nystrom his lunch once. Not too many players could do that. He is also nephew of Luke Richardson who also played a real heavy game. Ive never seen that in Chychrun's game.

Weird, but I think the better comparison is K' Andre Miller. Similar skaters, and similar style. With Chychrun i think you have a more complete player. He's not likely to get the PP time he did last season. 19 of his 41 points last season came off PP for the Coyotes. He's not going to play over Fox there. Likely would play over Trouba or with Trouba on PP2. It's just something else to factor if they are thinking we will see the same point totals, but im sure the Rangers are doing their due diligence.

I like having another booming point shot though. I like how he can take the puck on the blue line and walk it backwards to find a lane to shoot at. Simple thing that not every Dman does. Major upgrade over Nemeth for sure. Not certain if he is a big upgrade over K' Andre. I think Miller is on his way to being a very similar player.

He's a massive improvement over Miller. K'andre still has games where it looks like he belongs in Hartford, Chychrun is already well established at 23

JC is lidl McDonagh

Very different styles McDonagh and Chychrun. McDonagh was great at eating pucks every night. Dont see that with Chychrun. McDoangh was more physical as well.
I would say that Chychrun could become the better offensive Dman of the two. He has a better shot already.

the whole allure to me, with Chychrun, is that he all but guarantees Nemeth is gone. His play is a plus. We do need better puck movers and to add some goals from the back wouldn't hurt. Modern day NHL offense needs to be a 4-5 man attack.

The simple/easy/free solution would be to play Jones over Nemeth. I just don't see that happening.

Chychrun also gives them options when Miller and Lindgren need new contracts. Not that it is the reason for the trade but is a side benefit. Unless Miller is in the trade then it's a moot point.

Yeah. Jacob's dad Jeff made a bloody mess of then Ranger Marc Janssens in an exhibition game back in the day.

I don't see the similarity in play style so much, but the trade itself would be significant like the McDonagh trade was.

Lol, I wouldn't give that for Pettersson.

I’d rather have Bo Horvat over Pettersson. If the Canucks were stupid enough to announce that Horvat is available. I rather have him over Miller. But that is way too much for both players.

Horvat and Lammikko for Chytil Miller Kravstov and 1st in 2022?

Yikes not me.

I see a package of those three prime assets as enough to get an Eichel type... a clear cut #1 center, with youth and term. If it's not quite enough, then the add is slight, not massive.

I don't view Horvat on that tier.

Of course I'm not saying you are going to pry MacKinnon from Colorado for that price. I'm saying when said #1 center with youth and term hits the market due to a fallout with an existing team.
