A ton of guys "play through" injuries because of that warrior shtick that goes around. If you aren't playing with a broken leg or a jaw then you are a soccer player.

Much like post covid Ziba, McD's broken foot, Jagr's labrum some guys rather deal with the criticism of "poor play" vs not toughing it out.
I played for a year with a torn ACL

Different timelines imo. Chytil I’m losing faith in, Kakko I’m not

Fair enough. Its just unfortunate that Kakko has yet to really show us anything and will need a new contract this offseason. I wouldnt pay him any more than what Chytil this summer and with a cap crunch a hard decision will probably need to be made between him and Strome, depending on how the deadline goes.

Since people are so adamant about not having Kreider on the third line despite the fact that most of his production is on the PP, which he'd keep, then the lines should look like this:

Panarin - Zibanejad - Kreider
Lafreniere - Strome - Kakko
Chytil - Goodrow - Gauthier

I think that leaves the third line a little lacking in firepower, which is why I'd put Kreider there and move Chytil up to where he could actually play with some offensive drivers which would maybe spark him, but it's verboten to suggest moving Kreider to a spot where everyone would thrive if it somehow diminishes his prestige, apparently.
I'm just trying to find a way to give Kakko a look with a different type of center than Mika/Strome. He's played with both of them this season and has looked underwhelming for the majority of it. The only plus we can bring up in his game is how he looks defensively which he can just as easily do with Goodrow. I don't want Chytil on the third line because it makes it very easy for the coach to bury that line. I don't think he has confidence in Chytil and if he doesn't have confidence in him there is no point in him being here. GG seems like a coach that doesn't really change his mind much. I'm trying to find a third line the coach is willing to play more than 10 mins and putting Goat and Chytil on the wings doesn't sound like a solution. The coach loves Hunt so maybe Hunt/Goodrow/Kakko. Slide Chytil into the top six and hope he gets some points to increase his value.

Why does he get a big raise for flatlining?

is Gallant just telling Drury to go after guys that he had in Vegas? This guys’ stats look like nothing special, unless he’s great defensively which I haven’t looked at yet

There's been so many rumors about the Rangers over the past few days, you have to figure something is coming to a head (maybe) or its all bullshit (likely).

Either way, I am very much enjoying the Rangers being in a position to add to the roster, rather than continue to subtract.

Yeah, you're a psychopath however.

Jk but why did you do that lol.
Canadian healthcare

I had a knee on knee collision and was in a lot of pain but played the remainder of the game, afterward I could barely walk and went to the hospital. They did an x ray and just said I’ll be fine. A week later it still hurt so I went back, same thing. After several times I was able to convince them to refer me to a sports doctor, waited a year to see her. Upon her evaluation she immediately said it was a torn ACL and referred me for an MRI which I waited another several months for, turned out it was indeed a torn ACL.

If that's the case then I have to suggest it might be the coach who needs a change of scenery.

It's his mother f***ing job to get these kids going.

Btw you can clearly mark me down as someone that doesn’t particularly want JT Miller

I’ve seen this show before, and I’m good. Especially for the cost, Canucks fans seem to be under the impression they’d get someone like Schneider++ for Miller

no thanks

Probably because the player Miller is today it much better than the version that was given away.

It was stupid to move him then, it would be just as stupid to get him back (assuming it's at the Canucks fans asking price)

Disagree with the bold. He played the best, most noticeable hockey of his career with Panarin and Strome and was bumped up as soon as he started stringing together a good stretch for the first time in basically ever.

Nothing is false about that. They wrote the spite directly into the contract itself.
There's a difference between doing that and having fun when you do the offer sheet and then saying that they were absolutely just offer sheeting him out of spite. They tried to trade for him and when they couldn't trade for him they offer sheeted him. Then when they offer sheeted him they added the funny part into the contract. You're reading too much into that though. It's widely reported they tried to trade for him prior to the offer sheet and they were rebuffed. Yes don't just give away a 1st and 3rd I'm an offer sheet compensation to troll another team and make Twitter memes...

I would like to know when the initial overture to acquire KK was extended?

A few days before the OS? or weeks/months

if it's a few days, the Canes had every intention of OS'ing the player.
My understanding is weeks and the habs basically refused to so it without equal value to where he was picked. The canes decided the 1st and 3rd was better for them to give up than the cost the Habs wanted I'm a trade. Teams don't give away a 1st and 3rd just to troll a team...

I think Kakko looked good when he played with Strome.

But yeah, one of my reasons for putting Kreider on that "third line," is not only to get the kids rolling, which is better for the team overall, but that it's not possible to bury that third line then. Kreider is so hot he has to play, and hopefully he brings some offense to a third line and we then have three lines chipping in, instead of our current none.

how many of his performance bonuses did he actually hit?
Without looking, I'm very confident in saying zero.

ETA:

After looking at it, he was top 6 in ice-time last season, so that's $212.500, and currently also top 6 in ice-time and top 3 in +/-, so that's another potential $425.000.

The dark side of what they don’t tell you about nationalized healthcare. Glad you were able to get in to one of the 10 MRI machines in Canada.
