It's all so tiresome
What if they retainedIf the prospect is Kravtsov then that is too much.

Well we kind of do if we want a 2nd line center who costs more than like 3.5M next year.We don’t need retainer on that deal.
riiiight it’s currency so meaning you trade them to make yourself better which you just said so that’s different than what your initial worry was about the cupboard being bare
I think what he's trying to say is:I honestly don't understand this sentence. Not trying to be a jerk, but it makes no sense.

Eh...Kravtsov might never come back to the Rangers so if you can move him for a player like Chychrun then I think it's a win to do it.
All I’m saying is you’re worrying about the cupboard being bare but acknowledging what I said that there isn’t room for most of those kids so they will have to go in a trade. So I’m not sure why you’re worrying about the cupboard being bare
Ahh, gotcha. My worry is that when you go to Disneyland, you don't spend all your money in the first hour. We may wanna buy some cotton candy later.
I'd argue it's a pressing need. We desperately need puck movers. It's one of the many aspects that need improvement on offenseIt’s not a pressing need but how often do you get a chance to add a premium player with a reasonable contract?
Chychrun is better than many people here think. He’s absolutely a top pair D and would give this team a top 4 D that could rival anyone in the league.
Pair him with Trouba, who by the way is having an unbelievable season
Interesting way to spell GoodrowImho Kessel is the answer to Mika and kreider. Move kakko back to the only line he was dominant on with strome and panarin
Then lafreniere chytil and goat.
Yep. Like it or not, scoring from the back-end is the trend. Big guys who can skate and score and hit a bit are the ideal, these days.Girardi
Staal
Skjei
these long term pricy deals for defensemen who aren’t strong offensively have quite the poor history
Miller, a prospect and a pick.
I'd normally agree with this, but the issue here is that they've already stuffed their faces full of Churros between Panarin, Trouba, Kreider and Zibanejad.
Whether or not those moves were wise is a different discussion but they've already happened. They have the space to make significant adds now and there are going to be cut backs that will need to happen in the near future no matter what direction they go in. It makes total sense to cash some of those chips now.
It's why you have a stocked system to begin with. Not everyone will play and you move the excess for pieces that you need.
On the flip side, It would behoove the Rangers to move some of their chips ASAP. A few of their prospects are about as valued as they're ever going to be.
You are not going to get a premium player with spare parts.Change Miller to Lundkvist and then figure out with Yotes on how to make it work.
IDK, this is like saying "I already spent everything in my wallet, might as well empty my bank account too". The better point you make is assets depreciating value, and that is a very valid point I hadn't considered.
Either way, i'm not against either of those players. It's the idea of spending everything on both that makes me nervous. Grab one and go bargain shopping until the picture gets clearer.
I was thinking Jones-Schneider accomplishes what we need from the third pair. But, indeed, they do need more offensive firepower on D, somehow. Nemeth is game but it just doesn’t happen. The interest in Chychrun makes perfect sense to me and they should pull the trigger as long as they can keep the NHL D intact. I think the Carolina game really shined a light on the need for another defenseman who can get the puck out of the zone. Chychrun is also a horse that can take the load off Fox, who is playing great but you can tell is getting worn down.
Chychrun-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Lindgren-Schneider
That's a championship defense right now. The 5v5 numbers will drastically improve if they can make this deal.
I’d like to see those three rotate into the two bottom pair slots for a while. Get them all good action and experience with the flexibility to give them all learning breaks on occasion.you're relatively smart, can you tell me if this waiving is roster shuffling that signifies Jones or Lundkvist being elevated onto the roster on a semi-permanent basis? Could they sit Nemeth and run Schneider-Jones or Lundkvist?
Found out he wears Rangers pajamas to bed.Why are Arizona trading Chychrun?
the big issue with that.... is who?The more I think about it the more I’m somewhat okay with trying to find a decent 2C to help fill that hole for a year or two if they can get Chychrun in at a somewhat reasonable price.
