Ok, so Lundkvist merely can't bring back a 26 year old top 5 winger in the entire league.
Can I get a 23 year old potential breakout top 30 center?
it depends, your throwing out the whole business aspect of that move. Stone was a UFA and the team that dealt for him needed to invest 10s of millions of dollars for him long term.
Also nils value has likely gone down a bit since last season. Not a tremendous amount, but he’s proved that he can get physically exposed on 3rd pairing against bigger more physical players.
Unlike Seider, who he was pretty much right behind, who most of his skills/talent translated well to the nhl.
I’m not saying he’s going to be bad. But I doubt you getting a young 1C straight up.
I would have absolutely tried to trade him for a Turcotte 1 for 1 last year on that type of trade, but I could see why neither team would want to.
If he doesn’t get stronger and can’t provide more offensively, the return he’s going to bring back isn’t going to be massive.
He’s already going to have a hard time getting top 4 nhl minutes here to prove himself.
Some were penicillin him in to take over minutes from Fox this season on the PP, which was just wild to me.
Talk about a leap of faith.....KAndre Miller has higher trade value then Lundkvist atm.
I think he has a better chance to return the center we covet over Lundkvist...
When you factor in age, size, speed, tools, and ceiling.
I’d also wager in another year or so, Robertson comes up on 3rd pair and plays similar to how Schneider has. Solid. At that point, dealing miller could be possible.
