This is something I could potentially get behind as well.
Hagel is going to be cheap for a while.

I really don’t want Drury to deal any of Othmann/berard/Cuylle/Robertson

I trade kravtsov/Lundkvist/Jones/1st before those 4 imo.
If miller was to be traded, it better be a solid/cheap piece coming back as well. But it’s seems like they love KM....
I’ve said many times, Schneider just won’t be available unless a too good to be true type deal
Maloney compared Schneider to McD after the Toronto game. Not so much in style but his trajectory with the organization is very similar.

I’m not sure his ceiling is THAT high (maybe just trying to temper my hopes), but he’s already showing he’s capable of filling the 3rd pair RD spot better than anyone has this year. He’s been impressive in his short stint.

I’m also with you on the do not touch list. I think management is as well. They drafted those guys for a reason…changing the mold of this team was obviously on the top of Drury’s priority list the minute he took over.

Lehkonen is affordable and would fit the team profile. Gauthier and a pick going the other way makes a ton of sense. Probably not a second.

Chychrun would be a great add but everyone seems to be off on the return going the other way. I could see K’Andre headlining the return. Hard to swallow but much more realistic than some of the yard sale proposals for Chychrun floating around. This may be an off season trade.

If the Rangers go full rental on defense, I’d sure be checking in on Nick Leddy.

Right, if the ask for Chychrun is Miller, +,+ (which it could be) that's too rich and I'm walking away. I love Miller. I'd sooner include KK in a deal but considering the issues at RW, that isn't happening in season. If something can't be done with the pieces of Chytil, VK, Nils, Jones, 1st then so be it.

Poo
Koskinen at full pop
For
Kravtsov
Gauthier
Georgiev

Interesting idea.

Poo could potentially be a great fit with Panarin, and Strome too for the time being. Downside is, Poo is going to cost money going forward.

True but tackle that in the offseason
If they need to flip a contract they can

I wonder what the price of miller would be.

would jones/lundkvist, krav and one of our seconds be enough?

We really have a good opportunity here especially with the cap space. But i would hate to give up a first in this draft, especially aince we need to draft a center in the worst way.

Many here misunderstood my comment on Pavelski. He’s a difference maker, yes. But the price for all teams will be that of over a point per game player. He won’t be in the same role here so his production will drop. That’s not to say he won’t be effective at his role, just that the cost to acquire him will be higher than his impact just based on where he will play.

I’m a little concerned that so many people are quick to throw away the teams too you g talent for one kick at the can this season. The organization just went through multiple years of accumulating assets and young players to build both for now and the future and now many are trading them all away at one deadline?

It's delirious. People act like we have more than we can use; that's absurd. We lack necessary foundational pieces still. We have maybe 1-2 extra defensive prospects but are short 2-3 top end forward prospects.

Ride the course. Renting is for adding to completed cores. Not teams in our position who are in their first year back in the playoffs.

I do wonder what buy-low young pieces out there might cost, like Cole Caufield who has 1 goal in 29 games and was sent to the AHL.

So the three untouchables in Chicago are obviously missing DeBrincat's name, but there's another name missing...would Kirby Dach be available? Seems crazy to think he wouldn't be mentioned in that list as well. Hypothetically, if he was, I would be calling them ASAP.

Lundkvist for Dach?

I'm fine with that cause I don't think Gauthier has a future here.

It would be way, way too much.

Here’s one of my concerns with adding any top-6 forward at the deadline. Most, if not all of the guys we discuss feast on their respective PP’s. Pavelski is a great example. He has 11 of his 38 points on the PP. who is he replacing on PP1? So we’re paying for his production elsewhere knowing he won’t replicate it here. That’s a recipe for disappointment.

This is why depth options make more sense.

Its only a disappointment if you are expecting the same level of production while knowing hes getting less prime minutes.

27 points at ES is still very good and would be a HUGE addition to the 2nd line RW or better yet 3rd line C to play with Lafreniere.

Does this not make sense to anyone else? Why are the Hawks, a team clearly in need of a rebuild, willing to trade away these young, promising players instead of moving on from the previous regime?
They still thing of themselves as players because of Kane and Toews and Jones contracts.
