I know it wont happen but I'd like Jones to get another look.
It truly is imperative to get another capable puck mover.

Because we have back to back and I'd rather have Igor at home Vs AZ on Saturday night.

Couldn't care less about a "measuring stick" in mid January. No f'ing way. You play your best against an excellent Carolina team which will be a real measuring stick and play Geo against Arizona.

I'd rather have the better goalie in net on the back half when the team may not be as sharp.
The path to that happening is K'Andre gaining Gallant's trust in defensive situations. He got a PK shift early and fell down behind the net leading to the Marner goal. Nemeth got much more PK time after that and played a lot with Trouba late in the 3rd. Can't see them taking out Nemeth for Jones now for that reason.I know it wont happen but I'd like Jones to get another look.

No way you don't play your best goalie against Carolina as opposed to Arizona.Because we have back to back and I'd rather have Igor at home Vs AZ on Saturday night.
Can't get the puck out of the zone. Due to lack of talent ( besides Fox pair ) and poor puck support. We are dead last in the NHL in both CF% & FF%

Well hopefully he can start chipping away at it. The one place I don't mind Nemeth is on the PK though. The path to that happening is K'Andre gaining Gallant's trust in defensive situations. Sounds like a fun afternoon.I’m just going to sit back and enjoy where we are in the standings...

Can't skate through the neutral zone with speed. We dont have the speed or proper puck support to move the puck with speed.
If/when we overcome all of that, we don't have a good gameplan once in the zone... or the effort to execute it... or it's time to dump and change.
We have to start correcting things somewhere. At this point I think it's easier to 'upgrade' defense.
He's signed through next year at $3.5 million. That's a non-starter.At 29 years old how about taking a flyer on Brett Connolly? He's a RW has some size former #6th overall pick. Has scored 15 goals 3 different times in his career. Wouldn't cost much maybe a 4th round pick at most. Can provide the grit for the playoffs. I don't want to see Gregg McKegg in the playoffs.
26-10-4What's our record? Asking for a friend.
Right? When’s the last time we were this high in the standings? I’d much rather think about how this team seems to dig in and find ways to win. It’s much better then sitting there and talking about how terrible we are at some facets of the game.Sounds like a fun afternoon.
People have a tough time seeing the forest for the trees26-10-4
Hopefully Shesterkin can continue carrying us, don't you think we're playing poorly despite our results? We've been outplayed in at least 30 of those 40 games (and that is being very conservative, I'd say it's closer to 36 that we've been outplayed in)
The Rangers should not lose to Coyotes even if they are not as sharp and the goalie doesn't have the best night. That's just the way it is.Couldn't care less about a "measuring stick" in mid January.

Today's betting odds for winning just the Eastern Conference... not good.

Are they poor predictors of success? I feel like people say they're the best. I am not into analytics though and am definitely one of the more anti-advanced stats people here. But unfortunately they do back up the eye test for me in this case. I don't see us generating offense at even strength, we don't have that same dynamic puck moving that we did through the Quinn years. I think we looked a lot more deadly with DeAngelo, Fox is great but doesn't have that same skating or high flying offense. Fox slows the game down, which is great, but we need some more speed on the back end. Jones plays a bit similar to DeAngelo but is a much weaker skater, I think a lot of us were expecting Lundkvist to play that type of game but in his brief stint he was a bit of a dudNot to be snippy, but if they're such poor predictors of success then why do we give a flying f*** what the corsi and fenwick metrics are?
I feel like I've been fighting this fight for a decade now.
Yeah, but like, while they were more in practice, Coleman and Goodrow were 4th liners for Tampa.
Boston traded Wheeler for Peverly. Hardly a big name rental.
LAK traded a 25 y/o defender in Jack J for a 27 y/o center in Jeff Carter. Carter had like what 7 years left on his contract, definitely not a big name rental. Albeit he was a 2nd line center for them, which is tremendously unusual. I can’t think of any other example in the 00’s when a team added a 2nd line C at the deadline to win a Cup.
Chi added a 3rd line rental in Vermette.
