Completely missed the point, but ok.

The deal for Ryan Mcdonagh was hajek, 1st, and howden. Which equates to our prospect board to a 1st, reunenen, and a guy like vierling/pujeniemi.

Not our top prospects like Nils, Schnieder, and so on.
I get the point. Trades aren’t as fun if you don’t get to troll the other team. It doesn’t mean that teams are going to try and do apples to apples proposals with each other. This McDonagh trade reference is a bad example. Hajek underachieved but his stock when he was traded is certainly higher than Reunanen’s right now.

Call me simple but I'd be happy with this as a deadline from Drury.
To EDM: Georgiev
To NYR: Koskinen + EDM 2nd '23 + EDM 3rd '23

To MON: Gauthier + EDM or NYR 3rd '23 (whichever is better)
To NYR: Lehkonen

doesn't suck, but might prefer incoming wing be more of a shooter and at RW

?maybe just deal w Habs, send Georgie to Gorts, and bring back Jake Allen, who can also backup next season?
since Gorts went to Habs, i've anticipated them as possible destination for some of Gorts acquisitions - Georgie, Krav, Hajek, Gauth, some draftees
Mysek and/or Tuch could be good parts of returns

Panarin Strome Kakko
Kreider Zibs Laffy
Lehkohnen Goodrow Chytil
Hunt Rooney Reaves
Barron

He really has. He’s been as advertised. Good at the dot, responsible defensively, and contributes on the offense a bit.
plus he makes us bigger down the middle. I wished they called him up earlier.
It’s frustrating because had that happened, he would have likely stuck as a permanent player instead of this taxi squad nonsense or going back to the A when a trade is made.
He’s currently a better option at C and chytil seems to like the wing...
I just don’t trust gallant to keep Barron as a 3C and not move up Rooney, which is a mistake.
It’s one of the main reasons I think they’ll be adding a player or 2

It could be they are a little hesitant to throw Barron into the deep end like they did for Brett Howden. I want him here, but its encouraging that after he was sent down following his cup of coffee in October, he played well in HFD and looked better in his second stint with the big club. He' developing well and his chance will come, even if it takes longer than we like

Can I get Holloway instead?

I dont get why we arent pushing for that. Edmonton is in a free fall, Mcdavid and Draisaitl look ready to both demand trades, this is the year they should be mortgaging the future to get into the playoffs at least.

Holloway for Geo + would be perfect for us,
We can take back koskinen if needed because the cap doesn't bother us, and if we do this deal early enough maybe flip him if he rebounds when not behind the worst defensive core in the NHL.

We dont need additional picks, we have a core group of players that should last us into several prime cup years (if laf and kakko don't develop we have other issues), we have a cubbard of young prospects to replace some of the Pricier vets at most positions with the exception of center.

The plus would have to be something of approximately Holloway's worth.

McKegg here to stay.

I dont get why everyone is so worried about McKegg. He's the 13th forward, that's not a role I want Barron or any other prospect in. I do think Chytil/Gauthier/Hunt are essentially playing for their jobs before the deadline, and any could be replaced buy external adds or Barron if he continues to develop well.

Barron looked good recently. He should continue to get experience at center and winning faceoffs at the NHL level

I prefer him in Hartford if he's not getting significant minutes here. He's developing well. I think the McKegg stuff is complaining to complain.

And Gallant's quote about the AHL guys not being able to take NHL jobs is BS. Schneider literally just did it to Nils/Hajek/Tinordi
