Schneider called up and Lundkvist sent down

So happy for Schneider. 20 Year old kid from Saskatchewan getting called up to the big club. Hope he plays well. One fear about all of this. All the trade talks recently. I hope Schneider wasn't called up for the "Showcase" .

For Nils, i'm not soured on him at all. He's 21 years old with 25 NHL games under his belt. I think he's done just fine. Huge adjustment period.

I can't even express how awful hockey Twitter is. Everything is "OMG how could they choose Hajek over Nils?!?! What a joke!" Even from the f***ing notable bloggers. Do people honestly not understand the concept of sending down the young prospect to get minutes and develop while leaving the mediocre turd to serve as a scratch and occasional depth? As awful as this place can be, it's a million times better than Twitter.

Twitter hockey is worse than Twitter politics.

Hold on a minute there. Seems like it was a fake Pagnotta account that follows former ref Tim Peel.

I'm good with it. I'd rather Nils get top minutes in Hartford than spot duty in the NHL on the 3rd pair with Tinordi, Nemeth, or Hajek.

Tinordi-Nemeth was a shit-show I hope we never have to sit through again.

I'd like to see a Jones-Schneider pairing, but I think we'll get Hajek - Schneider or Nemeth-Schneider.

The more I think about it, the more i'm guessing Drury is trying to get a good look at the value of these assets. Who to keep, who to move and who is worth what. Doesn't hurt to showcase them either. Obviously one or more of these kids are gonna be gone by the TDL.

Gorton did a hell of a job stocking the cupboard for Drury.

Anyone who thinks we were keeping all the kids forever is out to lunch. There is no way in hell the Rangers weren't trading more than one of them at some point. It's impossible to ice them all without wasting their equity sitting them or, keeping them in Hartford forever.

Posters here need to think pragmatically about who brings what to the team, the way it's constructed, line by line, and within the modern Cap Era.

It's okay to have your favorites but some of the comments here are ride-or-die by nature and it's a good way of looking foolish in some regards.

Makes sense, especially since we're at a point where we will start to make trade moves to contend (probably the soonest I see this is over the summer) and also want to have guys ready to step in. Also a fair number of upcoming RFA/UFA deals in Hartford, so it's a good time to see who's worth putting more time into.

I'm sure the players don't mind their cup of coffee and a pay bump for a few weeks.

Gut feeling Jones and Schneider finish the year while one one if not both in separate deals Miller and Lundkvist get dealt for upgrade for playoffs someone signed beyond next year or RFA to be

Kane going to Edmonton feels inevitable

They need all the help they can get, a guy who can score on the cheap is what they need.

he’s a garbage human being though and I would never want him on my team

He makes DeAngelo look like a saint.

If Halak can be obtained at a fair price, I’m all for acquiring him and moving Georgiev. Georgiev is almost certain to be gone next year and he has real value right now. Halak is better positioned to be a backup and he could be resigned next year.

yea this makes sense but what’s the point if Georgiev gets a 3rd and Halak costs a 3rd?
