Imagine if Drury panicked and signs Evander Kane for the rest of the season. Now talking about just the player Evander Kane would be awesome on this team. He is skilled big fast physical and he beat the crap out of Matt Cooke but the person his personality might rub some the wrong way, hopefully this is a wake up call but who knows if he will ever learn. I love his skill set but the person he has a bad reputation as a person for the wrong reasons for a reason. PK Slewfoot also has a bed reputation not as bad as Subban. In Montreal, rumors that he was a problem in the lockeroom. Sean Avery had that issue in Dallas before he went back to New York.

Kane is a LW which they don’t need and if they won last night they would have the most points in the league

No Panic yet lol

A NHL team signing a man who's done everything money can buy to shirk away from the community responsibility we've all been asked to contribute to the past 2 years.

There's something to be said for people like that and nothing of it is nice.

I am not a Kane fan and don't think he is the type this team needs -- and I agree 100% with the responsibilities we all have asked for, and I think there is every reason to never put someone like Kane on the forefront as a posterboy -- but with that said, I don't believe in excluding someone like him from his occupation.

I am also very sceptical of fear from someone like Kane 'rubbing off' on his teammates. Don't think it works like that. I can only speak for myself, but just for example, I have never done heroine. Would I started doing it if I had a teammate when I played that was into it? I don't think so. Everyone are like, 'oh if we get Evander Kane its only a matter of time before Ryan Lindgren starts to do the exact same things as he have done'. Is that really that likely??

With that said, I have very little interest in Kane. Think he is overrated to start with.

Not picking on you in particular, but when did this team become a fraternity where all these guys are permanently attached to their "bros" at the hip. We have Zibs/Kreider, Panarin/Strome & now Fox/Lindgren that HAVE to stay together because they're all BFFs. Genuinely asking...Is this a millennial thing, that we need to worry so much about their feelings?

I only talked about Lindgren and it was in the context of trading 3-4 "A" assets to "upgrade" at a position that a.) shouldn't be our primary concern and b.) might actually end up being worse, even with a better player, if they don't synch the way Fox & Lindgren do. Has nothing to do with a "fraternity", it has to do with results on the ice. Let's remember that Fox won a Norris with Lindgren on his hip. It's not about feelings.

Everything is relative. There’s bad reps like, that guy is cranky in the morning. And there’s there’s bad reps like, this guy is faking medical info putting me in greater risk, not paying huge gambling debts, and offering women to have abortions for money then welching.

No one is excluding him from his occupation, all he has to do if find a company willing to pay him for his services. Good luck with that.
As far as the locker room stuff, it’s not so much that these guys will start racking up gambling debts because he’s there. I think it’s more about developing and maintaining an atmosphere of accountability to one another. I don’t think Kane has ever been interested in this and I rate it as vastly important for the success of a team.

I’m likely impatient but I’d move Chytil at this deadline

Also Gauthier may have some value now . See what’s out there

is Oloffson from Buffalo a good RW option ? likely can’t fit under next years cap though ?

He needs starts to not suck. He's not going to get them unless Shesty is injured. Plus, he wants to go somewhere he can be a starter.

Edit: Halak's numbers aren't garbage either.
I know but with Igor's health uncertainty I'm not sure it makes any sense to trade Geo in season. He's still an RFA after this season so he still will have trade value this summer.

I think you only move him in season if the offer for Geo is a 'can't say no offer' not just moving him to move him. So if something like that comes up, Halak would be one of the backups I would target. Halak, Holtby, Greiss seem to be potential guys who could be had.

My only dilemma with the Kane thing is that its possible someone like Carolina sign him and then we have to play against him. I hate him and his me first attitude but i dont wanna see him him in a Bruins jersey for example and have to play against that top 6. Id prefer the league just decided he wasnt gonna be a part of the nhl anymore

The reality is that Shesterkin has a hard time staying in the lineup though.
