I can dislike his ability to score even if you are fan boying over him. Doesnt mean i hate him. The fact is he isn't an offensive player and shouldn't be the guy jumping over the game when we're down by one. He has 3 goals in 60 games with this team.....its not rocket science.
I don’t think being willing to be a little more patient with a someone because he is still fairly young, has great raw ability, and has shown some improvement under Gallant, means I am “fanboying”. I absolutely understand his shortcomings defensively. That he gets lost in his own end at times (as does Lafreniere and Chytil which makes that line a bad combo). But to complain he doesn’t finish on the high danger chances he creates himself with his abilities is a bit ridiculous. He is playing on the 3rd line lol.

And on Sunday, the majority of the team wasn’t playing well offensively. Took the night off. Gauthier was one of the few guys skating well. Youre mad at Gallant for trying Gauthier as the extra skater one time during an off night for the team? Its not like he has done this over and over again. He isn’t David Quinn refusing to bench Brett Howden…

almost want to root against the US with the threat of hearing over and over what Drury has won in his career

Ok here is what we are going to do. Trade for Gourde at 50% and Giordano for Lundkvist, Gauthier and a 1st 2023 #1. Trade NYR 2022 #2 and 2023 #4 for R. Smith.

Kreider - Zib - Kakko
Panarin - Strome - Smith
Laff - Gourde - Chytil
Goodrow - Rooney - Reaves
Hunt

Miller - Trouba
Lindgren - Fox
Giordano - Nemeth
Hajek

I like the pieces but I would be PISSED if they gave all that up for Gourde + 2 rentals.

Gourde would be a really, really good add to the 3rd line. He is almost the perfect fit. But we certainly cannot get crazy with the payment, even if money is being retained. But again, perfect fit.

Giordano would be a nice add too. An upgrade on Nemeth and Miller. Makes us deeper on the Left side. Nemeth to 7th D. But then you still have a young Lundkvist on the right side. Does Schneider show he is ready at some point this year? I don’t know how I feel about Jones on his off side. I have read mixed reports on his defensive play in Hartford.

I would give up those pieces for Gourde @ 50% in a heart beat. A 1st and Nils? Why would you be pissed about that? Doesnt matter though, Seattle wouldn't do it.

Was Kakko wearing one of those rubber muscle suits this whole time?

Daytona Beach spring break '94. My buddy entered sumo contest (obviously while excessively under influence, duh) and severely sprained his knee. The positive - next day we drove to Universal Studios in Orlando where we put him in a wheelchair and got to go on all rides without lines. Good times!

QUOTE="MrAlmost, post: 181775932, member: 104308"]The Rangers should not use any picks to get players if it can be avoided. They will need those younger players on ELCs. Use the existing players: Chytil, Goat, Krav, Lundqvist, Georgiev, Hajek, Reunanen.

That's a lotta hooch.[/QUOTE]
We would get respectively little to nothing for each, especially Hajek, just to break his heart... let him finish out his NHL career.

But if you throw in, say, John Moore and a third...

Detroit slowly falling off and out of the race... maybe that's what @Edge meant w were monitoring :naughty:

I still have a hard time believing Drury would commit to a Larkin or Horvat, just to have the same Strome issue in a years time.

Admittedly different paths include different players, beyond even Strome, Larkin, Horvat, etc.

How many posts have been in this thread since the start of the season? Cause across the league there have been a grand total of ZERO goals that have been produced by players traded in-season. You guys just get cised to speculate. There should really be an intervention.

I would say there is quite a bit of value in the first 4. Georgiev is a bit less and Hajek and Reunanen are lower to little or none. But teams close to the cap need depth too, and Vegas, Tampa, St. Louis, Toronto, etc. are all trying to compete and get better and deeper so those low cost contracts are really nice. Especially when they are RFAs.

You're literally putting words in my mouth... you have to pay extra for that...

I'm complaining that he put the worst possible option for scoring a goal on the ice when he pulled the goalie. And yes this is approaching Howden level, because he has one of our best young prospects playing with two guys who couldn't create offense or score a goal if their life depended on it. We want Lafreniere to get confidence, well this isn't the way to do it. I'm the biggest Gallant booster but the decisions above are head scratching.
