Of the Top 5 PTS leaders.. 2 1st overall picks ( Kane and McDavid ) a 2nd round pick ( Kucherov ) a 3rd round pick ( Point ) and a 4th round pick ( Gaudreau )
It's kinda hard to argue that everything goes against what I'm saying, when you're arguing we shouldn't tank, yet 90% of teams to win a cup in the last decade have done so with a top 2 pick playing a primary role.

I never said it's a sure thing. In fact, quite the opposite. As with anything, there's a lot of risk involved. You still need to do other things well. Such as wise FA signings, good development of players, good drafting in later rounds, etc.

But the fact remains, the opposite strategy of staying mired in mediocrity and attempting to supplement decent players with FA's or lower draft picks is statistically less likely to lead to a cup.

To be dead honest, I don't care if we blow for 5 years. I don't care if we finish dead last for 5 years. If by year 10 we get a cup, I'm satisfied. I just want one that I can remember.
Why is that the only other strategy?

Why can't we re-asses the team, keep the players of value while letting the kids develop and continually adding to the team?

You are saying pretty much the same things I have been. It's not likely going to change the opposite opinions.

I do feel there is likely some of both opinions within the Rangers management, yet I also believe the re-builders are sort of going to get their chance. How long that lasts, I think is more of a question.

Sucking alone, doesn't get you a top 3 pick anymore. It takes luck of the draw. You get better odds but you're still at the mercy of 'RNG'.

Point and Kucherov are playing on a team with a 1st overall pick as well as a 2nd overall pick. What do their numbers look like on a team without those players?

Gaudreau on a team with 5 former top 6 picks.

You are proving the point you are trying to disprove.

I am outraged

Everyone post their nudes in this XXX thread in protest of this thead title
OK, I was about to hit post reply and then realized we should get clarity. Do you want "their nudes" like nudes of us? Or "their nudes" like our favorite random stuff on our computer? There is a huge difference and I don't want to be the guy at the non-costume party dressed like a huge condom. :P
