More annoyed with the title than I'm going to be with the not-so-great returns I expect we'll be seeing for Hayes and Zucc. (not really)
Thank you. I'm guessing no one has watched the full .gif because I think that is the best thing about this thread. That thread title is freaking gold.
Looks like some team got tired of waiting for Ottawa to get their **** together. Smash that refresh button.
Bruins didnt tank to get Seguin.
How long did it take for Washington?
Kings tanked how many years? Did they even intentionally tank? They a lot of other moves go their way to win.
Chicago is the other legitimate case. But they added veterans to them to round out their talent.
I am not saying to abandon the rebuild. Do not trade draft picks. Trade some assets, not all, for more draft picks. It is ok to add talent to your youth. For all of the top 10 picks for the last 5-7 years, even top 5, how much of that has resulted in cups? Tanking doesnt always guarantee success.
For them to recall Lias, I would assume that its closer than just close. If that makes any sense.I get the sense something is very close. Maybe by tonight?
And what about the teams that have tanked the last 7-8 years? Where are they? Why havent they won yet? It took Ovechkin what 12 years? One team... One team in the past 10 years won a cup without a top 2 pick playing a primary role on said team.
You're right, tanking doesn't guarantee success, but not tanking, almost surely guarantees you won't win a cup.
Lias up again, let's hope he does better than before All though his rather piss poor showing in the minors should raise some eyebrows..
You are quite clearly angry if your writing style is any indication of the actual language you're intending to use. But I'll entertain.
Consider key players on past cup winners and where they were drafted:
2018 - Capitals - Ovechkin (#1), Backstrom (#4)...also Kuzy and Carlson both late 1st rounders.
2017 - Pitt - Obvious - doesn't need to be listed
2016 - Pitt - See above
2015 - Chicago - Kane (#1), Toews (#3)
2014 - Kings - Doughty (#2), Kopitar (#11)
2013 - Chicago - See above
2012 - Kings - See above
2011 - Bruins - The only team that fits your agenda
2010 - Chicago - See above
2009 -Pens - See above
Of the past 10 cup winners, there has been one team that achieved it without a top 2 draft pick playing a major role.
For them to recall Lias, I would assume that its closer than just close. If that makes any sense.![]()
Oh YAY. Just got my first 520 error of the pre-deadline season. Trades are in the air. HFboards servers are already shaking in anticipation.
I spy a BBKers like... I think I agree now.I get the sense something is very close. Maybe by tonight?
Yeah, there's a certain, shall we say tension, from people I'm currently encamped with.
”It all depends on what our roster looks like next time he comes,” Quinn said. “A lot will be dictated by who we still have.”

It has begun. You go GMJG. You go...
They're suits, the reaction would all of them texting on their phone.
When I was an intern I assumed my first trade deadline would look like the Stock Exchange.
In reality it feels more like very disorganized conference call.
