Kreider 5-6 years $6.5-7Mper?

Wonder if he takes a 'discount'? Marchand just recently signed for 8year/49M. Hopefully Kreider does something similar

Marchand should be worth more given his point production.

5x6.5 I would certainly do. 6x7 is pushing it.

Wennberg might be a nice add for Zibenajds newly vacated spot.. Someone needs to feed him

KZW

sounds like a radio station

He probably is friends with Neal. But his deadline stuff is all jokes based off currently circulating rumors. He is parodying the types of things fake "sources" say. It's all a joke.

Just throwing a random thing out there, if Kreider does get traded (which i think is highly unlikely), we can all but assume that the team becomes Zibanejad's team. He will by far be the best player on the team and more importantly, the leader of the team. He will have the C next season if Kreider were to be traded.

Sure but Chytil and that line have looked good so why is he doing this again
We're watching completely different players.

Chytil has not looked good IMO since he had those b2b goals where he skated down the right wing - cut in and roofed it.

Sure you can say that about other games but recently I don't agree about that. He's been performing well the last few games and that entire line have been good together

Chytil has been puck watching a lot recently. I'm fine with this.

Thought Lemieux would get a quick look higher in the lineup though.

Continue.

Not until you edit the thread title.

A couple of thoughts from the last few games:

1. I love the Namestnikov-Strome-Fast line that Quinn put together to become a default second line. All three forward play mostly the same North-South straight line style which is a source of instant chemistry between them. Yeah they are not going to score on a par with a lot of other second lines but they are responsible defensively and play with a lot of energy that should trickle down to other lines. I even came up with a nickname for them: "Three shades of blue".

2. Putting Buchnevich with Chytil and Andersson is a huge vote of confidence from Quinn that Buchnevich earned with his recent play. I think that was the decision point for the head coach because he chose Buch to carry this line instead of being a "passenger" on Zibanejad's line. I actually said "wow" outloud after a goal that started with Buch laying a huge (open ice) hit that allowed the Rangers to maintain possession in the offensive zone and eventually score. Also very telling is that Quinn add Buch to the first line that comes on the ice after a PK.

3. Andersson looks so much better after this recent call up. What I'm excited to see now is that he is a) able to execute plays that needed in a given situation and b) able to keep up (mentally) with the play and be in the right spot where he needs to be. This is a very positive development (pun intended) to build upon.

By far my biggest disappointment this year is the play of Jesper Fast. He has risen to the occasion before when being given a bigger role, he hasn’t done anything this year. Won’t get close to last seasons numbers, I don’t think he is contributing that much either.

Needs a kick in the rear. Last off season was his first healthy one in a long time, expected him to be a pretty good player this season.

Were on the same page with this one. I was, and remain a really big Fast supporter, but i have to call a spade a spade here. He's hasn't been that consitent all out effort guy he was in years past. I used to feel like he was a pain in the ass for other teams. This year, i fell like he is just there. Next year is a contract year for him. Assuming he will turn it up a bit, and he will likely be relied on more from Coach Q with Zucc gone.

A few weeks ago it came out that he has been nursing an injury for a while. I don't believe he is fully healthy

I still think we are in on Panarin while also extending Kreider. I think Gorton sees the move for Panarin benefiting the ‘20-‘21 roster. I think they like the talent they have drafted so far and they want to surround them with proven talent. These kids cant all play with Kreider and Zib. You need talent on the other lines. Panarin has a ton of talent that can be added to Chytil or Kravtsov, or even Lias.

Sure it doesnt fix the defense but its not like Gorton would completely ignore it. Maybe they move more salary out like Namestnikov so they can sign EK. Or maybe they make a move like Buffalo did for Montour. You also dont know other factors. Hajek. Lindgren. Rykov. Maybe Fox? A lot can change in the offseason
