Alex Wennberg in Columbus was a healthy scratch last night. He’s had a rough season+ after a very promising first couple of years. He put up nearly 60 points in 16’-17’.

Would any one be in favor of a Skeji for Wennberg swap? Similar contract and age. Both showed great potential but struggled as of late. Skeji has been better but is he worth his contract? Wennberg is 250k cheaper with one less year but will he rebound? Pondering because it seems like a “fair” swap.
Not a chance
Do we need a soft playmaker who refuses to shoot? What does he bring that we don’t already have? People would rip into Wennberg quickly around here
And for the Jackets, they have Werenski-Nutivaara-Murray-Carlsson on LHD. Makes no sense for either team

Is Tolvanen really that desirable? He didn't impress me during the WJ's and his AHL numbers are nothing to write home about. I guess it's all about upside with him

Tolvanen has struggled every time the pace has picked up whether at the nhl level or the world junior tournaments. His skating isn’t great. He’s not very big. He’s got a lethal shot for sure though. I don’t think the scouts were wrong. There’s a reason he dropped to the bottom of the first round. Having said that he’s still a first round talent and a pure scorer they don’t grow on trees. I’d love to have him

Getting nervous on the Kreider Boston whispers. I do not want to lose him. For any deal that would have been given to Zucc, shove extra term and price right into 20. Kreider is a guy that moves the needle, I do not care to gamble with acquiring some assets in exchange. I want Kreider in New York for the next 7 years.

As much as I love Kreider, it’s all about asset management. We need to continue to make Brass/Zibby type deals and if there’s an opportunity for us to get a talent that can surpass Kreider’s production then you have to pull the trigger.

Nope, sorry. Understand that Kreider is not Brassard.

Asset management is an en vogue term and for the most part, I agree with the concept for us - but I am not gambling on question marks in exchange for one of the few heart and soul players that I'm writing in ink for the next 7 years.

If Lovejoy can get Carrick+3rd-McQuaid’s getting a haul. Seriously, first Jensen for 2nd+Bowey and now Lovejoy
Jensen’s a good bottom pairing dman and Lovejoy is pretty garbage

if we move kreider to nashville it better be for tolv, fabbro and a 1st.

thr0w in zuc and make it kreider and zucc for tolv, fabbro a 1st and a 2nd.

thats a deal i would do

tolv has 30 goal scorer potential

fabbro is a top pair guy certainly top 4

I am all for the tank but trading Kreider means we may be going into next season with Zibanejad as the only reliable impact forward on the team. I don't like that. If they're going to trade Kreider it better be for an absolute haul.

I love the idea, because that would mean we’d draft top 3 next year haba

Idk if signing a 28 year old player to a 7 year deal is the smartest thing to do. If we’re looking at patterns here, McDonagh/Callahan (both considered heart and soul players at the time) were shipped out before that ‘last big contract in their late 20s’ situation.

Why? We are going to be worse than this next year. It won't matter with or without him.

When viewed through the lens of two-5 years from now, it's a move that'll be made. He's gone next year at this time if we don't deal him this TD

nothing wrong with trading 13, 36 and 20 if it means were getting back teams top prospects who we can expect to play for us next year. an organizations top few prospects can make a difference.

i have no problem with that at all assuming we do our homework.

but for a teams B prospects and mid to late 1st rounders. no thanks. thats bottom feeding.

that haul that ott got back for duchene rally doesnt move me. both of those kids are B at best prospects.

Imagine this team with Lafreniere, Byfield, or Lundell (among many others but that’s my top 3 rn)
Next year is an amazing year to tank
I completely agree...with or without Kreider this team is going to suck. He’s the type of player that can bring back a stud and a couple of first round picks....I’d have to think long and hard if a good offer was on the table

I’ve got news NSH... if u want Kreider it’s gonna take more than that.
I went to a Nashville game the other night. They need scoring on the wings badly. They’re covered at center but I will add that turris is weak 5 on 5! He’s a power play specialist atm. They need what Kreider provides! I would both Tolvanen and fabbro and no 1st round pick. They’re defense is set in stone for the foreseeable future..
Fiala is very weak in traffic but would probably be trade bait though.

Now we’re comparing a midget spark plug in his prime (Callahan) with possibly the best conditioned power forward in the league (Kreider)
