There was never any real hope of any of them being moved this season, IMO. Shattenkirk will have to wait until next year's deadline, or even next summer. The last year of his contract actual $ is significantly less than his cap hit. Someone will definitely take a chance on him then. And I have to think we're stuck with Staal & Smith unless either one is bought out. No one will take them and it's not worth giving up assets to convince someone to take them.

Where is this coming from? It's February 22nd and there's still 22 games left in this season...no one knows what this summer will hold for this team yet.

Unfortunately this is very much wishful thinking. We have heard the exact same thing about Staal and Girardi and Smith and a bunch of other guys. The price to take Cally off Tampa is supposedly a 1st.

One injury, more poor play, whatever, and Shatty is totally unloveable.

In addition — we all know that one absolute condition for us to be able to move Shatty is that he gets all top PP time. Move him out, 50% retention and add a piece like a 2nd or a prospect.

I am not kidding, I am fairly certain that if it was not Gorts who signed him, Gorts would have moved him by now.

Once Zucc's been dealt I'm all over putting Buchnevich on that top line and seeing if we cant get him really cranking that way.

How things change in a matter of weeks. Many who’d agree with you know we’re ok to send him away for a bag of pucks.

Zucc didn't want to talk to the media after practice today, but a Norwegian reporter got a few words out of him. The last question is the most interesting one, sounds like he's a little pissed and done with the Rangers..

What do you think about leaving the Rangers?
- I've had many nice years here.

Do you think you will be traded?
- There are 3 days left until I most likely won't play here anymore.

Would you consider a new contract with the Rangers as a free agent?
- I don't think about that now. If they don't want me, they don't want me.
.

[Mod: interview is here > – Jeg venter egentlig bare på å bli tradet]

Can't say I blame him.

I can't really blame the Rangers if he's going to ask for 5 years. Sucks.

Part of what makes Zuke great is his emotions and thats why its so tough. At the end of this time in his career he will look back and be grateful that Slats signed him after the Olympics. It changed his life!

Yes he's a very emotional guy. The hardest part will definitely be to leave his friends.

That's why I think it would be a great idea to trade both Zucc and Hayes to the same team, then it will be much easier for them to find chemistry with their new teammates.

I wish Zucc knew how much we’ll miss him and how much we appreciate what he’s done here. I don’t think he does.

One of my favorite Rangers during my 29 years as a fan. Sadly, we’re just going in a different direction and Zucc needs to realize it’s nothing personal. Not even close. He’s loved here.

The Rangers have started a new chapter and despite the hard goodbyes, it’s vital for our rebuild.

.... A LOT more.

#1 prospect. #3-4 prospect. a 1st. and another 1st if he re-signs. That's as good as it gets.

I'd take the #1 prospect and a 1st.

They didn't trade their number 1 prospect. Bemstrom would be that guy.

Bounced in the second round.

The opposing RW’s are going to have a field day with that left side on D.

Kravtsov playing 23min a night on our top line seems like some serious unicorn believing type of ****.

And lastly, the hockey gods hate us. (Likely Devils+Islanders fans).

We’ll never get the 1OA. If we do, he’ll end up growing a foot on this forehead or something.

The 2-3 year time frame might be erroneous at this point. They assembled a "core" of vets who are competitive.. and Hank... it's a good team but not near good enough to do more than sneak in. I think it's going to be a longer process than we expect, it's gonna have to be.
