Probably nitpicking but I wouldn't go above $3MM.

I'm worried what this team will give Pionk, I still think he could develop and become a good 3-4 but I'd prefer ADA at this point.

We desperately need puck movement from the back end. Skjei has been getting better and ADA has been the leader in that aspect.

I mean I don't think it's a choice between Pionk and ADA. I think Rangers will try to move some of the vets in the summer and there will be enough minutes to go around. It doesnt change that the Rangers dont have either a top pairing RHD or organizational depth there though.

Not that it's a choice but they might value Pionk more than ADA for whatever reason.

I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't. Not unless he has an outrageous contract demand or someone makes a trade offer they can't refuse.

Mentioned him last night in the trade deadline thread after he was scratched. If the deal was right I would roll the dice on him. He's not a bad player and if we deal Hayes someone is going to have to line up at center for this team for at least the next 18 months barring a major breakthrough somewhere.

If they wanted someone a bit more versatile who can line up on the wing, I'd do Namestnikov for Wennberg and a sweetener.

Absolutely incredible passer, I would buy low on him for sure. Think he could be a 60pt guy on the right team.

Wennberg needs a change of scenery. Torts, you know how it can go. That 59 point year came when CLB had a scorching hot PP that got Sam Gagner his retirement deal. Gagne had 51 points that year.

Wennberg doesn't shoot. That's why the goal totals are so low, and teams keyed in on his tendencies. With the Blue Jackets PP being bad this year, the points dried up even further. While he's a very good passer, and has a solid two way game, I'm not sold on him as a real deal top 6 center.

I would rather take futures and the cap space.

I could see a three way deal involving Wennberg being shipped out, CLB getting Miller from TB, and the 3rd team ponying up picks and/or prospects.
