Get rid of Shattenkirk... PLEASE... I do not want to see him on this team next year.

He serves no purpose with ADA and to a lesser extent Pionk.. We have enough of what he 'offers'

Namestnikov is so horribly overpaid I’m amazed

Easily? Not when he’s going to be looking at 10 mil plus maybe. No certainly not easily. We have dead money on the cap as well. Girardis hit is big next year.
In what world is Names overpaid but Strome not.

Interesting bit on the Bobcast from Dreger about the Leafs and Kapanen. He said Kapanen's agent is in Toronto and meeting with Dubas, but wasn't sure what the context of it was. Could be just a touch point, but he noted that you never know what comes out of those meetings. If Kapanen's agent says they won't take a bridge and intend to play hardball or angle for an offer-sheet, what does Dubas do? Kreider at 50% starts to look like a pretty damn appealing option at that point. Leafs deal a guy they like and only have to "settle" for Johnsson/Tavares/Marner and Kreider/Matthews/Nylander for two playoff runs.

I dont especially like Kapanen, I think he is an player that needs to play with better pl players to get more open ice. Johnsson would be good.

While I am in favor of stockpiling assets and investigating all trade opportunities, please remember that the Rangers have to field a team in October. You cannot trade everybody.

Can’t trade everyone - and it’s inportant to acknowledge we do have keepers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched a game and thought “damn, the opponent doesn’t have anything close to 93 or 20...

What the hell went on last night? McQuaid got hurt, and the Rangers are playing with fire and better hope that Hayes and Zuccarello don't follow suit. And what was with the hasty Lias Andersson move? Seemed like a move to indicate he is on the block -- if that's the case, perhaps he should've been playing more 4 days before the deadline. Maybe Sather and Gorton can send out another letter to the fans to explain.

The Andersson call-up was confusing for sure. They didn't sit out either of Hayes or Zuccarello like you'd expect. If it was a showcase, then that means they would be adding Lias to a package for someone big? But how does this make sense for the acquiring team? Maybe TOR with Nylander? Kreider and Andersson for Nylander and one of their D prospects (Liljegren??)? Struggling to find an answer to a move that appears to make no sense.

LA better not be on the block.

Hayes and Zucc better not see another game

Could care less if Anderson is on the block. Guy is a disappointment and I'm not pleased with his play . Don't watch the pack enough and I know he's got a knack for being in the right place at the right time but he just can't think the game through. That's not a good sign for a guy who had been playing actual pro hockey for 3+ years now

I'm not trying to nitpick but you say you don't watch Hartford but have already passed final judgement on a kid in his D+2 season?

His numbers and thus far trajectory path are extremely similar to Mark Scheifele.

WPG probably thanking God they didnt give up on him...

I mean there are countless guys who took a it longer to develop and his numbers don't look THAT bad for a D+2 season in the AHL, especially when you consider that Hartford has been a dumpster fire for months.

Between TOR, BOS, & NSH for Kreider, I'd prefer Nashville the most.

Fiala, is the type of player that does it for me as a centerpiece for a package. Fiala isn't a 1st liner like Kreider, but is a legitimate top 6 winger that can replace the offensive production.

You get a player whose a safe bet for a 25-25 player who will slot in for his prime years. Sign him to a 6 year extension for $4M and he's a cost controlled lock.

If a Tolvanen or Fabbro are part of the package, and say a decent pick, then that's a very solid deal for Kreider.

Kreider had just 23 points in 48 games in the AHL at age 21.

Peoples expectations for him are unrealistic because of the whole NHL ready nonsense. And now because he had a 10 game stretch where he didn't produce (which is entirely normal for a kid his age), people are ready to dump him

Think a lot of folks here will be eating crow next season if the Rangers aren't dumb enough to trade him

Except for the part about not having a 10th the talent skill size ability of scheifele
How can you even say that? Scheifele was producing at the same clip that Lias is now. Did you watch Scheifele closely enough after his draft year to determine this? To see how much talent he was displaying then and compare to Lias now? Scheifele didnt come flying onto the scene so he was sent back to Juniors at age 18. A league that is absolutely not on par with the SHL. His 3rd year after the draft he sticks with WPG after 2 years in the OHL and puts up 34 points in 63 games.

They may not be the exact same player types, but the example still hold weight. You have no way of knowing what Lias is or will be less than 2 years after his draft..

But everyone could see the raw talent size skating skill set. Just matter of putting it together. You see any of that with Lias? People shouldn’t be focusing on his lack of pts. That’s not the issue. It’s the overall package.
