I’d suggest if you don’t want to look stupid, consult Cap Friendly before you make trade proposals. The Rangers have plenty of cap room this year. Next year is tighter than a drum. Plan accordingly.

Drury will never have as much cap space in the future as he has this year. Once teams start to lose hope, there will be some real interesting opportunities out there. It will be interesting if/when Drury goes into the rental market at the deadline, he has the money and ammo to get whoever he wants, and get multiple rentals. This feels like it will be one of those Nik Antropov/Derek Morris deadlines for the Rangers, hopefully with better results.
Strome has played admirably here. He’s resurrected his career and played above and beyond what we all thought the return for spooner would be.I don't get the hate for some players, Strome is one of them. The guy has his warts but he has 149 points in 200 games for us and all we gave up was Ryan Spooner, lol.

However, he’s not really the type of center this team needs as currently constructed.
He put up a large share of points largely due to Panarin and riding shotgun on a solid rangers PP.
The main problem with strome is that he was supposed to be a temporary band aid that’s is still hanging on for dear life even though it should have been ripped off by now
Part of it is his deployment, part of it is blocking a spot for LaF/kakko on the PP, part of it is preventing chytil from a bigger role to appease panarin.Yeah but again I still don't get the hate. He's frustrating at times but so is half the damn team. It's not his fault we can't find a better solution right now. He's averaged .75 ppg since he's been here and has actually played well when Panarin has been out of the lineup FWIW.

Drury and Yelle for Morris, McAmmond and Shantz.Drury himself was moved for Derek Morris in 2002
Preferably ones from our system. We need to add cheap young cost controlled players to this lineup going forward.
Joe Pavelski
Bo Horvat
Sidney Crosby
Geno Malkin
Jonathan Toews
Dylan Larkin
Tomas Hertl
There are going to be some nice names out there that even teams like the Pens might be willing to move.
I just dont know about the cap situation past this year to fit him.Horvat was/is my wishful thinking target.
Does Kreider make Pavelski a bit redundant? They’re both known for their net front presence and Pavelski would only be seeing 20 sec on PP2 lol
Crosby would be crazy, do you really see Pittsburgh trading him though?

I do think if this team is in a secure playoff position at the deadline Drury is going to make an impact add, likely a rental because he has the cap space for this year. And we have the assets.
I prefer the idea of Laf learning from CrosbyI LOVE the thought of Pavelski with Panarin. In saying that, I'm not paying for him as a rental this season. It's not the right time
As much as I hate Crosby, it could be huge for Laf. And he's unfortunately a winner.I prefer the idea of Laf learning from Crosby![]()
