Gauthier has his chance. Is he going to aspire to be the next Michael Grabner, or can he figure out how to apply himself physically game in and game out like Blais did? Clock is ticking.

This is it for him IMHO. If he falls on his face here and fails to impress then he's run out of chances with the Rangers if not the NHL. He needs to seize the day.

We have 2 2nd round picks this season and it’s not like we’re historically good with them either. Also by 2 2nds I mean 2 2nds or equivalent value. Toffoli would be a great get though for sure. Our only pure sniper right now is Zibanejad. Panarin can shoot as well but other than that we have no one else with a high end shot on forward.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Strome-Toffoli
Lafreniere-Chytil-Goodrow
Hunt-Rooney-Reaves

is my ideal lineup. Montreal has too many RW and snipers. Plus Toffoli is signed at only 4 mil for this season and the next. Would fit perfectly with Panarin-Strome

How about just Kravy straight up for Toffoli (just throwing out there not sure if that would be a good idea)? I would rather hold on to our first three picks in 2022 and draft two centers and another forward. But yes you're right with the Rangers history who knows we may draft a 6 foot 10 goalie who weights 350 pounds.

Yet another forward who doesn't excel at skating, sounds like a Rangers move to me.

I’d

I’d prefer a dynamic skating, even if less offensively inclined, young C coming back. Vilardi is interesting, and frankly probably unavailable from LAK, but this team is pretty plodding as is.

Give LAK an offer they cant refuse for Turcotte and call it a day

Gettinger has 29 points in his last 36 AHL games.

Sometimes it takes big forwards a while to get going.

Brooks seems to think he's a prime candidate for a callup.
I mean, it would be great if Timmy Getts puts it together but that would mean Hunt going into the top 9 probably which i'm not a big fan of.

I've been a fan of Gettinger but if he wasn't beating out the likes of Brett Howden, he isn't getting a shot in the top 9.

He should also be the prime candidate as a4th line/13th forward for the next 2 seasons at a cheap cap hit.

I wouldn't hate Hunt on the 3rd line fora short period of time. In preseason he showed some glimpses of good offensive acumen, although Gettinger probably could also sub up to the 3rd line also if needed.

Id like for us to go looking for a young center. Im not concerned about the cost of it, we have drafted enough players we could expend some picks for 1 year. I'm not sure why this franchise doesnt see the value in drafting centers, they can more easily be move to wing that the other way around if need be. I love the Schneider pick as a player but we should have taken a center with that pick, we had enough dmen to make a roster already.

I'm not high on Gauthier by any means but players who generate high danger chances and specifically breakaways as often as he does can start scoring eventually. Grabber ended up here for the same 'inability'

Grabner shot the puck....Gauthier typically loses it just before he gets to the net. I don't see the two situations as similar. If we're comparing its likely a faster PDG unfortunately.
