I wonder if they would make a run at Phil Kessel. I think he’d fit well, and the man loves a hot dog. No shortage of Hot Dog stands in this city.
Chytil with Zibby would be awful. Both are primarily shooters and could on their line mates to get them the puck.I would do Chytil at wing on the top line tbh
Agree but I don’t think he’s ever going to put it together and become anything more at this point. He just doesn’t have the hands or IQ
It does give Chytil a passing option since he usually enters the zone alone because he's stuck with slower skaters on his line. Although, the last couple of games before his injury he was doing a decent job of entering the zone and delaying just enough to let his linemates catch up to him and make a pass instead of his usual shot, which is probably why his last two games were his best. Laf needs to stay open and stop himself from becoming the third man in on board battles. I've noticed that when Chytil and Laf play together they both commit too much to board battles and then you have three guys right on top of each other. Laf needs to let the speedy guys do their jobs and get open and be the play maker when they get him the puck.Bern will be pumped... he’s wanted a LaF-Chytil-Gauthier line since camp.
Everyone is going to get a good long look at them as well it seems
im still annoyed we ever traded him. I hated him being traded then and hate it more now.
that's why I hate these "13/F depth signings". they always wind up sticking around. We keep saying this and yet the guy has played more than half our games so far.
True, but at least we're undefeated in regulation with him in the lineup. We keep saying this and yet the guy has played more than half our games so far.
The organization has repeatedly, across 2 GMs, 2 Presidents and 3 coaches now, said that Fil is a center.I would do Chytil at wing on the top line tbh

Why is everyone so hellbent on him being tried on the wing? He's played 99% of his NHL minutes (and AHL minutes) as a center.
One of the worst takes I’ve seen in a while on here.Sammy Blais 6'2 210 lbs
Julian Gauthier 6'4 227 lbs
Boo Nieves 6'3 215 lbs
What seperates a guy like Sammy Blais from Julian Gauthier, from a Boo Nieves?
All three players i feel are similar. None of them were known to have great hands. They were avg there at best. All of them have size. All of them have skating. At some point, the player realizes that in order to stick. In order to play in a different role other then a bottom six guy bouncing from AHL to NHL club, one has to be special. Maybe is a Coach, a Mentor, a fellow teammate that gets the message through? Maybe that said player has to just figure it out on their own? Blais figured it out. He found himself on the top line on the NY Rangers. Blais was special in one single department. The willingness to bang. The willingness to play that all out relentless physical style of play...And then do it consistently. Sammy had that. Nieves never did. Now he's 27, and out of the NHL. Gauthier has his chance. Is he going to aspire to be the next Michael Grabner, or can he figure out how to apply himself physically game in and game out like Blais did? Clock is ticking.
Toffoli would be a good get even if he hasn't had a strong year to start. He had a terrific playoffs last year.I want Pavelski. Would be the perfect leader and depth scorer for this team. Problem is he and Kreider play the same role of net front presence. Toffoli is another good option if we want a sniper. We could get him for 2 2nds or less

We have 2 2nd round picks this season and it’s not like we’re historically good with them either. Also by 2 2nds I mean 2 2nds or equivalent value. Toffoli would be a great get though for sure. Our only pure sniper right now is Zibanejad. Panarin can shoot as well but other than that we have no one else with a high end shot on forward.Toffoli would be a good get even if he hasn't had a strong year to start. I just don't think we should trade all of our 2nd's. Plus I know he isn't making crazy money but he signed for another 3-4 years I believe at 4 plus million.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Strome-Toffoli
Lafreniere-Chytil-Goodrow
Hunt-Rooney-Reaves
is my ideal lineup. Montreal has too many RW and snipers. Plus Toffoli is signed at only 4 mil for this season and the next. Would fit perfectly with Panarin-Strome
