They’ve been vastly outplayed at 5v5 for the majority of the season, but what’s promising is that they’ve been much better these last few games. Another caveat is that lot of those numbers are heavily by score effects, and if you look at their results when the score is tied, they’re much closer to league average in shot attempts and are ranked 10th in xGF%
because they got their shit rocked for the last two weeks where they were decisively outplayed almost every game until the Columbus game.
about 48% CF but 57% xGF%. they definitely sat back after the first period but it was a pretty even game. the bottom pair is a serious problem right now. What did the numbers say about last night?
The eyeball test wasn't a beaut after the first period.

4 game win streak with noticeable improvement in their play during that streak -> drop 3 spots in the power rankings.
My mistake, for some reason I thought this was year 2 of the contract and not year 3No he is not
a lot of talk. Here’s hoping he follows through on it.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with hitting a player w the point of contact at the shoulder or chest, if their head is down. Here’s hoping he follows through on getting him with his head down? So we can lose Reaves for 5-10 games to a suspension?
Smart.
Nothing like the well thought out information from BSPN4 game win streak with noticeable improvement in their play during that streak -> drop 3 spots in the power rankings.
ESPN doing a terrific job!

Dont care about the fancy stats but they will need a D-man at the deadline. Lundkvist doesnt look ready and injuries happen. I think Jones deserves a shot in the coming weeks as well.
Apparently they havent watched the last 3 games. I never put stock in these rankings but its kinda funny they dropped three spots and have gone 4-0 since the last ranking, including a win against their former #1 ranked club.
The Jets got done even more dirty than us. They dropped 8 spots, as a team that is first in their division.Apparently they havent watched the last 3 games. Vancouver is ripe for a trade. The owner is involved now and wants to turn things around. What can be done there?
We didn't shoot the puck for 13 games. All advanced stats are based off of shots. We were averaging 21 shots a game i think? Obvious night and day difference over the past few games
You could be in front of an empty net and shoot wide/or fumble the puck and it doesn't count. ( case in point, Chytil last game where he hit the post. That doesn't count towards anything )
Find a way to get Pettersson.
For it to work next year, you would need to have Blais and Gauthier accept there qualifying offers, Kakko bridged at 2.5m, Chytil traded for a elc 3c, and Nemeth traded for the value of his whole contract with nothing coming back that cant be buried. Along with a cheap <1m back up goalie.
Horvat at 5.5 would only eliminate the Chytil trade from the above problem.
Or find a taker for Trouba or Kreider.
Thats only a matter of time as well
