If Oilers miss the playoffs again I want to go all in on trying to get McDavid, I’d even include Kravtsov in the package

I don’t know I feel like the oilers would probably need to add if we are trading them the best defensive player in the league.

This is what I want for my entertainment dollar. Jovo's psychosis is spreading and I'm here for it 100%, pass the Kool Aid!

Speculation: - Roster Building Thread - Part XXVI

That was Edge's response. Could mean directly related to Krav but there's literally been nothing on Larkin possibly being moved anywhere at this point. Whatever trade was possibly going to happen over the summer didn't come through and doesn't look like it's being revisited any time soon.
Interesting, thanks. I missed that.

I wonder b/c during their season preview podcasts, Friedman once again wondered out loud about Larkin. There were talks on him at least years deadline. Y is still very much in "future assets" mode.

I'd imagine this season is huge in his mind. Do Raymond, Seider and Zadina look like the real deal? Are they part of a core he can be part of moving forward? He's done A LOT of losing there.

Im sold. Lets get the hot dog man to the hot dog city asap
If you have never tried Hebrew national 97 percent fat free hot dogs, you are missing out.

45 calories apiece and they taste just like the real thing. Bit on the pricey side though.

Exactly the content this thread was missing.

IF, and its a big if, Krav and Nils for Larkin was on the table this summer, and Drury didn't pull the trigger...knowing everything about Krav and how he was nearing his final straw, and he didn't pull the trigger...That's a fireable offense.

No it's not. Larkin is a ufa in 2 years and IF they view nils as an elite ceiling than that could've been the deal breaker, especially with whatever draft pick they would've had to add. Yzerman always grabs picks. People complain he fleced us for years in tbl but now think some cupcake offer was on the table for Larkin? Ha

Don’t think your gonna get anyone on your wish List for Krav. All those players have increased their value since their draft year. Pinelli might wind up being one of the biggest draft steals. Maybe an outside shot at Veleno or Madden, but neither guy is very good imo. Flames are high on Pelletier/Zary and that’s pretty much it. The most likely won’t deal them for krav. I wouldn’t.
The only way krav brings back a young player/prospect with high end value is if he’s likely packaged with one of our D.
Odds are, we’re looking at another 2nd rd pick. But at least the next 2 drafts are solid.

Unfortunately you are probably right. But if I were in Drury's position, I am not sure I would move him for less. All though I don't think Drury, well, at least I don't think he's shown that he completely understands value yet. I guess we will have to see. I do think the Kings might still be the best bet as their plethora of young centers means it's more likely they would trade one and they do have every level of prospect. So guys like Kupari and Madden I think are more gettable than they would be with other organizations. Guess time will tell.

I said "IF, and its a big if" for a reason.

I'd even give up Chytil for Larkin IF Barron shows he belongs.
I would have as well, but Larkin to NYR is deader then disco imo.
Seider looks like the real deal, hroneck is solid, zadina and bertuzzi look really good, hell, even Rasmussen is looking like a legit 3C nhl player. They got Cossa/Raymond/etc coming, smart 4th line trades for Tampa guys like Stephens and Erne.... long story short their young guys are coming, some quicker then expected.
Larkin was just named captain, Michigan native, yzerman is going to resign him. He’s young enough to be part of their rebuild.
Much like how we were built, it can’t just be youngster. You need some vets. Especially being able to maybe drop Larkin in a 2C role for them eventually, it makes no sense at this point for them to trade him. Literally next to zero.
The only way he leaves is if he asks out, and I just don’t see it.
Dvorak was such a missed opportunity for us as you know. We could really use a 2-way C that’s young, on a good contract, good at face offs, and can contribute 50-60 pts.
He was the get imo.
Besides doing carnival cartwheels to make the cap work, besides Eichel, there’s not much available.
Not crazy about Hertl, I think is only a matter of time before he’s a Bruin as well.
Maybe a William Karlsson or chandler Stephenson in a 3-way with Eichel going to Vegas.??? Likely won’t be this year at least
Drury liked Danualt, offered him 5 years so im trying to think of some comparable players that can possible be available ??

Well, Shesterkin makes them suck a lot less. So we got that going for us.

If he stays hot, the rest of the team may catch up to him.

Agreed. And a lot of satisfactory defense and individual all success. I see less of Tortorellaa system, more 08-09 Renney's at least in the execution. Just kind of okay.

It’s possible. Kravs value might be down a bit from his draft but he still has some value.
I just don’t see the high end player some people do. I see Buchnevich as a good comp to Krav if krav hits his ceiling. I don’t see a 80-90 pt winger.
Buch was proven and didn’t run back to Russia twice and he returned Blais and a 2nd in a good draft. He also needed a contract though.
Krav is younger and more unproven, but Buch would be my comp....
Drury might have to package krav with 1 of our young D prospects down the line to try and maximize value.
