Was hoping to see Barron center the third line, but I don't have any issue with Rooney moving up for a couple of games. Will be frustrating if McKegg plays over Barron, though.

We signed Goodrow to second line money and dagnabit that’s where he’ll play for the rest of this decade.
3.6m is second line money? In 2009, sure.

It's 100% NOT 2nd line money for a UFA in 2021.

That Hunt-Rooney-Reaves line has been quite good, just leave it be.

Agreed. I see a lot of ppl complaining about Hunt but I think he's totally fine as the 4LW. Good wheels, finishes checks, good on the cycle, enough skill to create some chances. He's not great or anything but as a 4LW he's more than fine in the role and compliments that line well.

Keep the 4th line together, run Blais-Barron-Gauthier as the 3rd line. Scratch McKegg, no need for him as anything other than an extra body for practice.

If the team thinks Blais has 20 goals in him, it might behoove them to put him on that 2nd line instead of Goodrow. Especially because he's shown quite a bit of chemistry with Chytil. Just a thought.

Barron playing with McKegg and Reaves is just a square peg in a round hole.

You want to see if the kid can play with good players. Give him go. If you're ok playing him on the 4th line (which theyve said they aren't) why wasn't he here all along?

Because they ideally don't want him to play on the fourth line but now they have two forwards out?

Barron should be the 3C over Rooney. Not a good look there.

Hunt on PP2 is a just a black hole where offense will die. Barron should also be there. Blais is fine to be the net front guy. But Hunt, thats no bueno.

Even with Dryden Hunt, an average fourth liner who sounds like a gynecological condition, PP2 looks less cursed than it did last season. They were real bad. At least in these three games they've been getting some pressure. Maybe GG is letting them have longer shifts than DQ did, but they look like they have some confidence

The Panarin line has almost always needed a defensively conscious 3rd member. If Goodrow works well there that's perfect. I've said this before, he's a better, more physical version of Fast who can also play center in a pinch.

Lafreniere Zibanejad Kreider
Panarin Chytil Gauthier
Blais Barron Goodrow
Hunt Rooney Reaves

Thats what I'd like to see tonight. Doubt it though

Hunt has shown nothing offensively. Barron should be on the powerplay over him.
For sure. Gallant prob doesn’t want Barron to have to worry about too much on his first call up. Plus he’s been playing a lot of hockey.
I’m not too bent over it. 2nd PP doesn’t get much time anyway
At least we get LaF in Stromes spot.
But I agree, I’d stick Barron there over Hunt. It’s not like he has a ton to remember, he’s basically just going to stand in front of the net
