Upset, sure. Requesting a trade? No.

Play 10 games and tear up the A if you're that good, force them to call you back up.
This is fair, but maybe its a big deal to him that he's ready now and is willing to take the gamble that he ends up with another team than in the AHL all season.

“At the end of last season, Kravtsov had a contentious exit-meeting with Rangers management. Much of the strained discussion zeroed in on the way No. 74 trains in the offseason, which left Kravtsov thinking he was going to be traded. Kravtsov decided to fire his agent, Paul Theofanous, and hired new representation in Dan Milstein amid issues with Rangers brass.

Additionally, Kravtsov believed he should’ve been in the top six when he was first recalled to the Rangers last season. Kravtsov bounced around the lineup throughout the 20 games he played in 2020-21, including a lengthy stretch on the fourth line.”

Dude looked at a top 6 with Panarin, Buchenvich, Kreider and the 1st overall pick and said "I should be playing over those guys".

I am of the opinion that Kreider should have been kept at his natural LW on the third line, to give us three lines with legit scoring ability.

Not sure what's so hard about doing that, and Kravtsov could have been given that 2RW spot.

They're not as bad as Skjei but they both have Brady Skjei Syndrome. That guy could have been an elite defender with his size and skating and has instead spent his entire career cosplaying as Brent Burns.

I think they are as bad as Skjel.

Kakko seems like a fit with Panarin, because of that(and obviously this can change), I don’t think Gallant/Drury were comfortable with Kravtsov and LaFreniere flanking Zib. If Laf shows he belongs on the top line than I think they would feel comfortable bumping Kreider down and bringing in some extra offense.

It’s a lot of change for your top line center to lose both of his wingers in one offseason.

Another drama filled day for NYR boys, how lovely.

He should have just kept his mouth shut but I've always felt he's been kind of influenced by his Russian buddies. He's probably always been told to not let American's in the NHL put you through the ringer or maybe he really is that much of a dickhead. I always just thought he was shy and liked to stick to himself more but does he really think he'll have it better anywhere else? I'm telling you the guy is gonna end up going back to Russia, never to return to the NHL again. let's hope we can get something for him while we can

Dylan Strome is available and Kravtsov wants out. Chicago isn't necessarily deep on the wings. Hawks also need some cap space, they're rolling with 20 guys.

Strome has 1 year at $3M left. He can play the wing, but he's on their 4th line at the moment. He was not that good for them last season. Goes without saying Ryan Strome would know how he'd fit in the room here. Could benefit from getting out of Chicago since they are going to roll with Dach, Toews, and Tyler Johnson down the middle.

Wonder if that is a direction they could go in. Would give some security going into next year when Ryan Strome is going to want a pay bump and is likely gone.

It's not ideal, but I would not be opposed at this point.

If Drury likes Chytil at C, then Strome is gone at the 1st if someone offers a 1st or a 2nd and a good prospect. If Chytil isn't the answer at 2C, then Jones and Kravtsov are gone.

If Jones goes and Miller stays it will be a monumental blunder unless Miller's game gets much better.

If they stay 100 percent healthy they porbably can...If they don't probably not in this beast of a conference.

This conference has two powerhouses on the downside of the slope.

If the Rangers don't make the playoffs, Gallant will have failed miserably.

Quinn, thought of as incompetent by most here, didn't miss by much and this season features an improved Kakko and Laf, a healthy Zib, and Panarin without Putin, not to mention all the new toughness.

Idk if this board can handle another Strome.

I think it's fair to say that lucking into Lafrenierre and Kakko changed the constellation of opportunities available for everyone and I doubt that we'd see the exact same outcomes of player development in lieu of their presence.

The rebuild was always going to have its share of misses. While this is certainly disappointing (and should hopefully result in some introspection from the organization) I don't think that it changes the trajectory we're on. If we miss on VK and LA but hit with players like Cullye, Barron, or Jones, we're still on track.

This provides good context. "What If..." the Rangers drafted Byfield & Zegras instead of Laf & Kakko? Buch & Kravtsov are probably the top 6 RWs.
