Both sides handled this poorly. I already said something was up when he did not make the teambuilding trip. The Great Rebuild... is more like the Great Lottery Luckout now. Oh well... I personally thought that Krav outplayed LAF in camp. And Kreider too... Gaut had a better camp than VK. So did Blais. Hunt? Meh... a good 1st game. Then nothing special. NYR asset management is terrible as always. Excuses are like bungholes. Everybodys got one.
Seems to be the Rangers MO handling these potentially tough to deal with kids

I get it that people are pissed at Krav for being immature...but it's on Drury and management to make sure shit like this doesn't happen. It's not that he didn't want to play here. Maybe some additional or better communication could have smoothed things over? Maybe the Rangers sacrificing Gauts or Hajek could have avoided this? I find it hard to imagine anyone watched him play this preseason and thought "wow that kid isn't an NHL player". He should be here, and he knows it, and he feels wronged. Again, bad response by Krav? Yes. But also bad management? Indeed. This is strike 2 for Drury in my books.

Hopefully they can get him to cool down, although 2 for 2 on demotions from the Rangers. Plus he quit on the KHL when he went back to Russia after the first demotion.

I think it's fair to say that lucking into Lafrenierre and Kakko changed the constellation of opportunities available for everyone and I doubt that we'd see the exact same outcomes of player development in lieu of their presence.

The rebuild was always going to have its share of misses. While this is certainly disappointing (and should hopefully result in some introspection from the organization) I don't think that it changes the trajectory we're on. If we miss on VK and LA but hit with players like Cullye, Barron, or Jones, we're still on track.

Stop with Larkin stuff, every team in the league sees how badly this situation has been bungled on both sides and won’t give fair value for a guy who’s got an attitude problem.

Lmao 2 for 2. When Lindgren and Chytil were demoted in their careers they didn't throw fits, they buckled down and worked on their games.

Yep. Same as Buffalo fans wanting top dollar for Eichel. Krav's value is impaired for the forseeable future.

Also, this is an example of GOOD asset management. Drury doesn't want to lose an asset for nothing on waivers, so he sends down assets that do not have to go through waivers.

Lindgren and Chytil were not Top 10 picks. But I totally agree that the VK camp handled this poorly. Where is the Agent and his reasonable advice when a 21 year old kid with runaway tendencies has gripes that could affect his entire future? THese guys need to step up and support their clients better IMO - Unless VK is an entire nutjob, Which I doubt. There is surely a sense of smelly entitlement here that lingers... but I AM SURE there is more to this than we know

Drury should feel no pressure to move VK right away.

VK put himself in this situation, not Drury. He's going to get lowball offers right now. Wait.

I called this cold.
His agent won’t let him go to Russia again.
DRURY is screwed value wise now.
The relationship between Kravtsov and NYR is irreconcilable at this point. I thought he might have lasted a month before asking for a trade.
The only way we’re going to get something of substantial back for him now is if he’s packaged with a young D.
At this point I’d be surprised if kravtsov reports to Hartford.
Expect drury to try and move him sooner rather then later. They aren’t going to want trade rumors putting a dark cloud on the new look rangers etc. maybe he gets traded 1-1 for another teams problem child.
Kravtsovs stock has only gone down since being drafted. Maybe he returns a 2nd rd pick if that’s the route drury chooses. He might figure we have enough bodies and just want him gone.
The kid has all the physical tools, but for Gallant not to want to keep him up, he must have a serious attitude/effort problem.
At this point, just like Lias, good riddance, that’s not what we’re trying to build here. We don’t need another one of his soap operas.

Who cares where a player is drafted once they are in the system? That should have ZERO bearing on if they make the team.

Disagree completely

Kravstov and the relationship with him is worth more to the team than Hajek

Hajek is like 6th on the LD depth chart and stinks, you cut bait to keep the relationship in tact with your obviously sensitive young RW who is talented

Terrible personnel and asset management here

So you think the guy who throws a fit when he's demoted isn't gonna throw a fit when he's a healthy scratch every night? Not buying it.

The same stuff was pulled in 19-20. There comes a point in time when the player is not worth the aggravation. Just report to Hartford.

I wonder if JD in Columbus would be interested. They are rebuilding and could use another skilled forward. He knows Kravtsov and how the first go around went down.

I think he would prefer being on the big club to being sent down yes

They led him to believe he was making the team and they sent him down because they didn’t want to lose Hajek.

He has every right to be upset, this not a black and white issue

Upset, sure. Requesting a trade? No.

Play 10 games and tear up the A if you're that good, force them to call you back up.

Let's take the whole didn't want to lose Hajek or Gauthier out of thr equation here.

He didn't earn a top 9 spot, excluding those guys. Would he keep his mouth shut and not complain if he was still in the NHL but sitting in tbe stands every night?

Wouls that be a better way to handle it and better for his development? Not getting reps in real games at all? I don't think so.

He ran once and is doing it again.

He has every right to be annoyed.

He also is showing his lack of maturity by, ONCE AGAIN, handling bad news like a baby.

Both can be true.

Where is he going to play if he did that? the rangers blocked his spots with goodrow and blais.
Additionally this appears to f Chytil as well, because blais and goodrow aren’t exactly gonna let Chytil produce 2c numbers.
Goodrow and Kratsov might’ve.
