I'll keep saying it, Larkin should be the target.
Is Larkin available? I know Edge said it was a possibility over the summer but that was awhile ago now. Trust him completely but other than that there really hasn't been any talk whatsoever about Larkin being moved.

This team hasnt taken advantage of the fact players wanna be here, we rarely get a discount on contracts for that. I dont know how that changes but if everyone wants to play here it would stand to reason that would be reflected in a contract or two, Zuc aside we havent seen that.
Fox wanted to be here. We got Trouba because he would only come here (even if not everyone loves the contract). Shattenkirk took a huge discount on term to be here (even if it didn't work out).

Fox is playing on an ELC right now let's see how generous he is at the end of this season, my guess is going to be not much.

Early on i liked the thought of Jack Eichel in a Rangers sweater. Also felt like it was inevitable that he would come to NY. Players that want to come here, usually do come here. Eichel wanted to come here. Worst kept secret in the NHL.

As this progressed, i don't think he is coming here anytime soon. The injury. Then he put it on the Sabres to move him. Everyone made it sound like NYR were always the front runner. The billboards were like a slap in the face to the Sabres Org. Now I just don't see the Rangers as the team the Sabres want to deal him away to. I would mean Jack got his way. I don't think this deal is happening.

I would also keep Chytil.

Yeah, I disagree:

You need to be able to project your own players when making decisions like this. The only thing holding Chytil back is opportunity.

Why are you taking stats in a 42 games, 521 minute sample, and assuming it's his new normal when he's never produced remotely close to that before? If you're expecting that kind of production again you're likely going to end up disappointed.

My buddy who is a Seahawks fan calls me this morning just completely rick'd about how Jamal Adams is all hype no substance and I'm just like, dude, my team has Jacob Trouba :laugh::laugh:.

Idk I don't think he's as talented. Has he ever got top-six time? I feel like he has, but his time there was limited
He was the team’s top center last season while Mika was COVIDing and before getting injured. He was doing quite well during that time too.

But the unavailability of top 6 time is not a reason to critique the kid.

Chytil is no where near Hertl(yet). I personally don't see him getting there. If you're of the opinion that he does get to that level soon, then I see your point. I just personally don't see it.

This is also my assessment. Chytil doesn't have the offensive upside. I don't see it. He still very young and this current contract of his will show us. But again, I believe, you either have the puck control and skills or you dont. It's not something that can be taught (to a significant amount).
I'd be totally fine with a bottom 6 guy, that can chip in on 2nd line sometimes.

Big pre-season game for Laf coming up. As of now, I have a feeling if Kreider to RW doesn't work, come the regular season its not going to be Kreider getting moved down. Both his and Laf's preseason were meh so far, and he has the seniority over Laf. Unless of course Laf-Mika-Krav works well and Laf can cement is spot as 2LW.
