Reread the quote .."But at the same time, we all understand how this world works," Lundqvist said. "It's a business, and [there's] a lot of planning going into trading with teams. We're in a unique position right now, so we'll see what happens, but obviously I hope he'll stick around for many reasons."

Hank letting it affect his play is not Hank...

Sure, but that doesn't fit the narrative that we should keep Zuccarello so it's not quoted.

Not so sure about that. Hank issued a "warning" now to the management. .

A warning? What did he do? Walk into the office, roll up his sleeves, and pound his fist on Gorton's table?

Gorton asked Lundqvist if he wanted to last through this rebuild and Lundqvist wants to be here. He knows what's going on. Your trying to misrepresent Lundqvist's quote so it fits your narative. Stop the nonsense.

I can't ****ing wait until Zucc gets traded so we don't have to read your biased crap anymore. Like another poster once said here, you make me dislike Zucc with all this propaganda your discharging on these boards.

Sometimes it's what you don't say. He didn't say he won't flip out if Zucc is traded. Management has been warned.

Conor Timmins has been skating and is expected to get game action soon. You can be sure the Rangers will be scouting those games.

This is the player I want if he proves healthy. He was outstanding prior to the concussion. Exactly the type of two way player we need on the right side.

I’d be ecstatic with Hayes for Colorado 1st + Timmins.

What is to stop Zuccarello from being traded and then re-signing in NY in a few months? This rhetoric that he’s all upset because he wants to be in NY is baloney. He can come back if he so desires, he’s not banished for life
I could be wrong but, I think the team has either passed, out is passing Zuccarello by. Of course he can come back, but his biggest value to the Rangers now is a trade asset

Duszak played beneath current Hartford Wolf Pack assistant coach Joe Mormina in his freshman season at Mercyhurst, so the Rangers should know quite a bit about him. However, Duszak attended the New York Islanders 2016 Mini-Camp and he’s a Long Island kid. Like Hirose, he’s on the radar of a lot of teams.

Here’s another UFA to keep on your radar...Tye Felhaber of the Ottawa 67s. A few reporters have mentioned he will be an excellent sign8ng for an NHL team. He has 49 goals in 46 games for the Ottawa team. He’s also 6’ 190 so it shouldn’t be a size issue, only 20, but he doesn’t have a Birthday until August. He scored 31 goals in 68 games last year but was not drafted. Curious if anyone has laid eyes on him.

Those players are long shots though. Like Jayden Halbewachs and

He’d definitely be bargaining from a position of weakness if he were desperate to play in NY.

Agreed but a) it’s not my money and b) some do pan out. He’s on pace for 70+ goals and that’s Lindros, Tavares territory. Apparently a lot of NHL teams are taking a close look at him.

Well, I always say "It's better to bet on a prospect whose future is unown, than to bet on a prospect who's certain to not be good enough"

When you have guys like Butler, Gropp etc in Hartford, there's no harm in letting them walk and replacing them with someone who is unproven at pro level. We gave a shot to Lindqvist, and despite it not working out, it was a good decision.

There’s not a lot of risk in free agent ELCs. Every now and then, one pans out.

New board rules. @Ola is not allowed to make trade proposals involving Kreider, Lundkvist and Edmonton...especially if they include Pool Party.

Hey it didn’t include Pool Party! ;)

Seriously though, Namestnikov and Lundkvist for Avs 1st in 19’ — why is that such a bad trade? Might not be good enough, might be a step sideways. But the Avs are 14th from the bottom. What is the price to move up from 28th (where Lundkvist was drafted) to 14th? Let’s say we get a 28th pick in this draft, what would we have to give to move up from that spot to 14th? Probably a lot. Probably more than Namestnikov.

And the Avs pick can definitely go either way. If they do well, they can climb a little. Become more of a 16-18 pick. But if they fall through — and they haven’t been good lately, their defense hasn’t been good, their goaltending hasn’t been good and they had no secondary scoring, it’s only that top line, their pick becomes downright immensely more valuable for every spot they drop. Like Colorado is 3-7-0 their last 10. They are only 4 pts ahead of the Panthers that has the 5th overall pick as of now.

Sometimes teams giving up a 1st rounder tends to panaic when it seems like they aren’t making the POs.

I don’t know, get the argument but I think I would make that trade. We have a bit of an RD depth. Is Fox coming here? If the pick ends up being a 18th overall pick it’s a good pick and not a horrible trade. But a 10th overall pick alone is worth so much if it would go in that direction instead. Look at last year, Dobson went 12, Farabee 14th, Demiseko 15th. There could be some really good kids available in that range too this year. It’s not that I mind Lundkvist, but...

Pretty sure they could care less. It's a business, Hank is a grown man and will deal with a friend getting traded if it happens.

Is it possible that Hank heard that Gorton was having problems with trading Zucc and thought ‘f*** can we never get rid of that little annoying Norwegian midget’ and said those things just to boost his trade value? I am just spitballing.

It's a trade that will likely end up being a wash, which means it's a bad trade. I don't think any of the players in the 2019 draft who will be available where the Avs are picking are going to be considerably better than Lundkvist.

So in that case...I'd rather just keep Names, who can slot in anywhere with this roster and work, and Nils, who is having a pretty good SHL season. Why turn two assets into one asset who will likely not be better than the two assets we gave up?
