I haven't seen this but also don't follow the rangers media too closely. What's the perceived issue with a practice with pace?
Players are too tired when it's time to actually play or some nonsense like that.

Boy I would take Kerfoot over Vesey, and I like Vesey.Seems like an acceptable thing to say? I never said Zadorov would be the main piece in such a deal and neither would Fast. My point is I'd rather spend currency on a Hayes-caliber player than a Vesey-caliber player. Avs already have their version of Vesey in Kerfoot so it wouldn't make sense.
1) Colleges have a lot less games and typically longer practices. NHL has a lot more games and less practice time.I thought this was a bit odd...
Are we talking about the same Smith? It's not the penalties. It's poor decisions with and without the puck.Smith has plenty of value for the team when playing and has generally performed well. He just has a bad reputation because he takes a lot of dumb penalties, the coach has scratched him, he has a reasonably large contract, and because he apparently wasn’t in great shape last year. His results have been good throughout his Ranger career.

Thanks for pulling the numbers. I've felt for most of the year like Hayes was getting shit on without justification. I think he's decent. If he was making $1m-$2M less he could be a reasonably attractive piece. If your strip out all the names and narratives the results with Smith on the ice have been good.
Among dmen that have been on the team the last two years (Smith/DeAngelo/Shattnekirk/Skjei/Staal/Pionk) he is:
CF60 - 2nd
CA60 - 2nd
CF% - 1st
GF60 - 2nd
GA60 - 3rd
GF% - 2nd
D-Zone Start % - 3rd
QoC - 2nd easiest (but there's like no spread at all between the toughest and easiest for the Rangers. 50.27 QoCCF% for Staal down to 49.8 for Shattenkirk)
QoT - 2nd worst
Penalties taken - most (by a lot)
Penalties drawn - also most
Giveaways - most
He also has by FAR the lowest CA60 of any Rangers dmen on the PK however they have allowed a ton of goals although I am reasonably certain an 80.6 4v5 SV% with him on the ice with and Lundqvist in net is not something that will continue.
Offensively he hasn't provided much but outside of Staal the other 5 defenders have essentially identical production ranging from 0.69 to 0.77 pts/60 at 5v5.
So when on the ice he is helping the team get a lot of shots, not giving up many, and this has also reflected through with goals as they score more with him and give up less despite playing with weaker players and starting mostly on defense. He takes too many penalties which we know but at the least he has drawn a lot but he's certainly still been a large negative there. He's had a lot of giveaways but is this really a big deal considering these have not resulted in the team allowing many more shots, goals, or a high shooting percentage with him out there?
So precisely what is the problem here? He's got the job done at a far better level that most Rangers defenseman even if it may not look pretty when he's on the ice.
Avs fans are telling me Hayes for Zadorov is the most lopsided trade proposal they’ve ever seen lmao
Obviously they don't frequent our boards.Avs fans are telling me Hayes for Zadorov is the most lopsided trade proposal they’ve ever seen lmao
Both fan bases hate it, it must be fair!!Obviously they don't frequent our boards.
Unless I am missing something, you proposed Hayes for Zadorov and a 1st, and that is what they were reacting to.Avs fans are telling me Hayes for Zadorov is the most lopsided trade proposal they’ve ever seen lmao
Nice seeing some personality from Buch![]()
Can't really fault them for not wanting to see their 23 year old Dman traded for a rental.... Let alone add a 1st on top of that.Avs fans are telling me Hayes for Zadorov is the most lopsided trade proposal they’ve ever seen lmao

lol fun to watch but I'd think hitting the target while looking would be accuracy, no? doing it blindfolded is more a test of memory or spatial awareness or somethingLove it!
They said even if it were a 1 for 1 it was and that 20+ teams would beat that offer. I don’t see how that’s trolling but I won’t do it again thenUnless I am missing something, you proposed Hayes for Zadorov and a 1st, and that is what they were reacting to.
Second, proposing something on one board and then running to another board and saying "OMG you cannot believe what fans of X think of this proposal" is actually considered trolling. I don't think you were doing it intentionally but I just figured it would be a good time to remind everyone that it isn't allowed.![]()
Zads types are ones fans like a lot more then management. They said even if it were a 1 for 1 it was and that 20+ teams would beat that offer. I don’t see how that’s trolling but I won’t do it again then
Not as the main piece of a trade, noIs Zadorov even that good? Like, obviously he's not enough to fetch Hayes 1-for-1, but is he even worth targeting?
I read this post this morning and thought maybe it was like an April fools day joke, or that something in my brain had broke overnight.Smith has plenty of value for the team when playing and has generally performed well.
