Brooks loves Kevin Hayes for some reason. The Rangers need to trade Hayes off in the next 4 weeks and move on.
Dallas? Canes? Who? With today's standings and playoff ambitions who would you guys think are the top 3 suitors?

Oh yeah who are they?We have 3 defensemen currently on the roster who also can't play defense
Hayes absolutely has to be traded by the deadline.Brooks loves Kevin Hayes for some reason. The Rangers need to trade Hayes off in the next 4 weeks and move on.
Meh, he’s quiet down since Hedman got back from that injury. Stralman has been struggling though a lot this season, and Girardi, well, is Girardi.
Groin injuries can be wierd and come back to couse discomfort pretty easily especially for a pro athlete.Zucc gets a 'maintance' day.... after that much time off?
Kreider - Zibs - Howden
Vesey - Hayes - Names
Chytil - Strome - Fast
McLeod - Nieves - Buch
Staal - ADA
Skjei - McQuaid
Smith Shattenkirk
those lines look rough
Wouldn't surprise me if Howden is the next guy to sit in Quinn's "play better" jail..
Lol and Andersson is suspect to even be an NHL player because he's 20 and only playing well in the AHL.Howden is 20 and has 15 points in 47 GP, his rookie NHL season. What part of that says 4C ceiling to anyone?
I'm always hesitant to compare Tampa numbers to a lot of other teams anyway.
As we've seen over the more recent years, a 70 point pace in the right situation in Tampa can be equal to half that elsewhere.
Howden shouldn't sit. He should play in the AHL.
We're talking about a player who, over the last 30 games (300+ mins), has the 3rd lowest shot rate in the league, 15th lowest point rate, 7th worst CF60, worst CA60, thurs worst CF%, 20th worst GF60, 11th worst GA60, 2nd worst GF%. You could honestly make the argument he's been the worst regular forward in the league in this timeframe. He's not ready and I don't understand why he has held a spot and got so much ice time for so long. He should play big minutes in a more offensive role against lesser competition.
I am not really sure why he wasn't there a while ago. It's not like he already has an extensive history of playing there with great production. He's played 5 AHL games in his career and that was two years ago.

Howden jumped from playing in Canadian juniors straight to the NHL basically. He can be a 2/3c in this league. Needs more time
Simple question. Is Quinn wrong? Yes or no?
I agree he needs to go to the AHL and get top line minutes. It sucks because I would want him getting 1C minutes but you have Lias needing those too.Yeah I don't doubt that at all, but he's not that now.
I think we're past the "let him play through it" part of the development curve. He's stuck. Maybe some time in the AHL will help him develop his game a bit.
Seems odd to sit him now, though. Howden should be plenty rested from the week long break.
