Actually, I am hoping for the opposite. Vesey is getting a bit better every season. Nobody can claim that he is worse now than last season, right?
Another sell-off is coming. Having another winger won’t hurt us. With a bigger role his production will also increase and it’s perfectly possible that he can take another, small?, step forward again next season.
I have made some kind of mental note that whenever I think along the lines that someone’s value ‘cannot go down’ it’s usually the opposite, but in this case I really don’t know.
If someone comes along with bonafide interest in Vesey — sure I wouldn’t think twice about moving him. It’s not that. But I have no problem keeping him around a little longer, think his value can go up a little more next season too.
I think now is the time to do it because after Hayes and Zuccarello are gone, I can't see him maintaining that pace without them even with increased TOI.
Things will get even more dire around here in a few weeks.
