Actually, I am hoping for the opposite. Vesey is getting a bit better every season. Nobody can claim that he is worse now than last season, right?

Another sell-off is coming. Having another winger won’t hurt us. With a bigger role his production will also increase and it’s perfectly possible that he can take another, small?, step forward again next season.

I have made some kind of mental note that whenever I think along the lines that someone’s value ‘cannot go down’ it’s usually the opposite, but in this case I really don’t know.

If someone comes along with bonafide interest in Vesey — sure I wouldn’t think twice about moving him. It’s not that. But I have no problem keeping him around a little longer, think his value can go up a little more next season too.

I think now is the time to do it because after Hayes and Zuccarello are gone, I can't see him maintaining that pace without them even with increased TOI.

Things will get even more dire around here in a few weeks.

Even if Smith would be sent down, a consideration not that strange judging the way he is playing, there are better options than Gilmour.

Just because Smith isn’t playing that well, it doesn’t mean that Gilmour is a better player.

Smith has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation. The Rangers have 8 defenseman as it is. There is zero need for Gilmour who sucks at defense. He is horrible. Roman Ndur was a better defenseman than him.

The only thing that Roman Ndur is better at than anyone is names.

Its too bad that Skjei isn't having the best statistical season, if there is interest Gorton should listen to offers from him around the league. I don't worry about his future -- but I can't imagine that we will have problems filling LD spots down the road. Hajak and K'Andree. LDs are available all over. European free agents, college free agents. Cheap UFAs like Claesson. Like it is now we don't have a single opening more or less at LD.
