There is a solid chance Makar becomes a good nhl dman but let's not speak with such certainty that he'll become elite.

Also that pick right now doesn't have the best chance to get the #1 and is outside the top 3. They are also 2 pts away from being the 6th worst record.

I think the Rangers would ask for 1 of the 2 along with something else in a deal for Kreider.

I am not a huge Makar fan, but I’ve not seen a lot of him this season.

Hayes, Fast and Kreider for Makar, Bowers and Jost.

Who says no?

I’d want more.

I’ll throw this out there—if and a big if Colorado wants to make a huge trade and become a serious competitor what about:

Hayes—second line center their looking for
CK—second line wing
Shattenkirk—Dman and PP QB they might be looking for at 50%
For
Makar
Kaut
Jost
1st in 2019. Not Ottawa’s
Soderberg

Colorado has 11.5 million in cap space which will be no issue with taking back Soderberg.
Taking 50% on Shattenkirk allows the extra in the deal.

We all believe CK or Hayes should return and first along with a prospect or other close to the same so break it down.

CK for Makar and Jost
Hayes for 1st and Kaut
Shattenkirk for well Soderberg and including to be as proposed.

I don’t believe this would happen but just think how this deal would add to the rebuild.

Obviously would be interested in Liljegren

He probably won’t be as good as I thought he may during his draft year but he’ll turn into a 2-3rd pairing guy

Also there is some overating of our players here haha. I love Kreider but Makar won’t be moved for him. Makar is probably the best D prospect in the world, and if he’s not the best, he’s at worst top 3

Liljegren is 19. 19!

He's got a year and a half in the AHL at an age most are still plying junior.

Sure I'm interested. What is the price? MZA?

Yeah, and don’t get my previous post wrong, he is a good prospect, but we got Pionk and TDA and Lundkvist already. And I don’t really see much upside beyond becoming like a Vatanen type. 3 years ago that was a wet dream, but I just think we have bigger needs.

People continue to confuse what the likely Ranger approach to trading Kreider (and most likely Zibanejad) is. It’s not about getting a fair deal. It’s about getting an overwhelming offer. If someone wants Kreider, they’re going to have to overpay. I don’t care if people think the deal is fair for the other team. Gorton doesn’t have to trade Kreider. There’s no point in bundling him with Hayes.

I believe the reasoning behind CK is one the return with a year and half before he needs a new contract. Two is the contractor he’ll be looking for. My personal feeling is they should build around Zibs knowing what you have him signed for and what you get.

You don't typically get recent 1st round picks or lottery selections back at the deadline. Folks hoping for Kaut in return for Hayes are probably going to be disappointed. Makar is rightfully untouchable. That Ottawa 1st goes nowhere until the Avalanche know where it's going to be.

im happy to pay kreider on his next contract. the guy is dominant. dont understand why everyone here feels the burning desire to trade a guy were going to have a very very hard time replacing. such a unique talent

guys i dont know what to do with:
skjei, pionk

special cases:
buchnevich, i dont want to give up on him, but if you get the right offer, not sure what that is, i take the deal. not an untouchable for me

I would only trade Kreider away if we are getting ourselves a bonafide top line talent like Tyler Seguin. Can't see the Avs trading Makar under any circumstances.

I see us developing skjei and pionk further but if we can use them as trade chips to upgrade a package, i'm all for it. Ex. Namestnikov + Skjei for Tomas Hertl + prospect/whatever. random proposal but we'd be using Skeji to upgrade Names into Hertl and whatever else (don't focus on if it's not balanced. not the point i'm making)

I want to keep him but if the Rangers are blown away I could see them trading him.

Only team that might look at buchnevich is Carolina. They’re still looking for goal scoring. He could be an add to boost a return.
