Escrow is at an absurd amount this season. It goes down significantly year over year.Has anyone else looked at Nemeth's contract in terms of how the dollars are paid? Seems odd.
$2.5m cap hit
Year 1 - $1.5m
Year 2 - $2.5m
Year 3 - $3.5m
So it's backloaded and for a team like the Rangers, that seems like bad business, no?

Relentless speed down the middle, above all.
This is why Larkin is probably the target. He has a lot of Point similarities. What would Larkin look like with a Kucherov/Panarin?

This is going to be a radical take.
Chris Kreider will be a line driver again, with Gallant. Mika will look like 2018-2019 Mika.
I initially read that as "since 2008" and I got really nervous. He's been having wet dreams about Krava since 2018. I think he'll be fine haha.
We're all guilty of recency bias. With Kreider, somehow a lot of us forgot how he's capable of 'tilting the ice.' Even when Kreider wasn't producing, he was responsible for a lot of the success for his line. Whether it's the space created, forecheck/board play and/or a screen in front. He doesn't end up on the stat sheet but he played a major role in the teams success.I was looking through some numbers yesterday and saw that Kreider had ONE point at ES over his last 20 games.
Thats insane. Thats next to impossible to do with the minutes he got and who he played with. He should have had more by accident even if he played worse than he actually did. He legitimately sucked, but there has to be a hint of bad luck in there as well. I wouldn't expect a drastic turnaround, but I would expect him to be better next year. Good Kreider showed up in spurts last year, so its not like that player is completely gone.
Also, it dawned on me that he was demoted for like 3 of those games LOL.

I like this contract because its designed to be "buy-out-able". Same with Goodrow.
If we buy-out Nemeth after one year the caphit is 1, 0, 1 and 1. If Nemeth isn't a top 6 for us, we have a LD we rather play over him, the impact is small. If we buy him out after 2 years its just 1k and then 1.1m
If Goodrow goes Belesky on us and after two years he just is of no value to us, the buy-out is good too:

Its of course not optimal to have to buyout all these contracts and waste cap space, the millions add up. But these contracts can never really become a bigger negative factor.
There are worse things than an overpaid third liner that can put up 40+ points and is a responsible player and a solid role model.
He probably could if he showed up for every game.I would tend to doubt that Kreider can score 40+ points if he's in a third line role.
