No, no, please explain why Brassard as the 4C is “dumb”. Do tell. I would love to hear the explanation. Because the numbers would show otherwise. And at least Brassard has had experience playing up and down a lineup as he has gone through his career, has produced, has played in all situations at times.
Because he is slow and old and that is exactly the opposite of what this team needs in a bottom 6 C

You are also way too worked up about Daniel Brassard at 4C debate lol

I'm done with this, go argue with someone else about something that will never happen

Brian Boyle is old, bad, and hasn’t played in the NHL in over a year. He’s not good offensively. He’s not good defensively anymore. He would be a major liability. It’s enough already. If he wants to play in the AHL he’s welcome to do so on an AHL deal.
You don't understand, we need to dig up any old vet name and give him a tryout, it is that time of year of the offseason

There's quite a few penciling Barron into the #4C position this year.
Is this kid really ready for the role yet?

Think the 4C is primarily Rooney. Barron might have a shot at centering the third line if Gallant wants him as an everyday player. I don’t see where else they would put him except as 4th line wing, and if that’s the case I’d rather send him back to Hartford.
Odds are he would be counted on to PK a bit, and having Goodrow on his wing would be a good thing. It would help him a ton, but he’s got win the spot at camp. He fits the mold more of what Gallant presumably wants from the bottom 6.
I really don’t see him platooning with Hunt and Reaves as a 4th line wing, seems like a waste to me.

Don't forget he never played as big as he is.

I like him but he's not the "legend" he is on HF

Yeah, he's got an NHL body but idk that he's proven enough to warrant a shot as a regular as of yet.
I'm thinking he starts in Hartford for sure.

Yea, it’s gonna be up to him. He’s gotta have the type of camp where he outworks the next guy. He’s got the tools for the nhl atm. Size, hits, Great shot etc, but he’s gotta make Gallant think the team is better with him there then without him for him to stick.
Rw/LW are still too crowded atm, and plus it looks like the rangers are grooming him as a center for the long haul.
It’s going to come down to Gallants vision of the bottom 6 and if Barron seizes the opportunity

I'm hoping he works out as a center but at this point I don't see how he beats out Rooney just yet.
He reminds me of Gauthier in that sense..

Without more moves yeah Barron seems like he'll be in Hartford again for hopefully a more normal year and be a callup when necessary.

If the move Strome or Chytil or Kravtsov or whatever then that's his opening to get into the lineup but if not, then it's probably better for him to get more icetime in Hartford

Reactions: Barnaby
I would absolutely give Brassard a camp invite or league minimum deal. Bozak also is of interest.

Bargain bin hunting time.

Don’t rule out Boyle either who Drury had on the USA Team for the IIHF Tourney
Going to go ahead and rule out all of those.

Bargain hunting was worth it years ago when we had shitty depth. Our top 9 is pretty much set and we have multiple quality candidates for our fourth line.

If anything we need to get rid of a forward or two.

An old and drunken @BBKers can outskate Boyle at this point. Love BB but he’s done.

What does Brassard add to our team? He won’t crack our top-9. And he won’t improve our 4th line. That Rooney’s spot to lose.

This is more like going to the Salvation Army and buying the jacket you dropped off there 10 years ago.
