Current owner will heavily benifit from gambling licenses, he is betting on that making the team profitable going forward.
Is that a pun?

Strangely enough I don't really view the second line spot as a concern. It's nailing down the first line spot and having someone who is ideally suited to the third line, rather than just plugging in the guy who didn't win the second line spot.
I just don't see myself spending too much time thinking about Dvorak in a world where we're trying to figure out what to do with Strome, looking to give Chytil the chance to take that next step, needing to make a decision on our top center spot, and potentially looking to free up a slot to allow Goodrow to take the third line spot and possibly have Barron there in the reasonably near future.
This is the first thing I thought of when I saw Ryan Martin was the hire. Drury didn't hire Martin solely for that reason, but where there's smoke...The Rangers hired Ryan Martin as their AGM. Martin knows Dylan Larkin better than anyone. Martin and Larkin have been associated with USA Hockey. Martin had been in Detroit for a long time(2005) and Larkin grew up in Michigan. Martin was part of the management team which selected Larkin in 2014. Martin has negotiated two contracts with Larkin's agent. If Drury wanted intel on what Steve Yzerman's plans are for Larkin, Martin would know.

Wasn't meant to be, and now I'm disappointed in myself haIs that a pun?
It's no secret. Edge more or less confirmed earlier in the summer that the Rangers inquired about Larkin, but that a lot of contingencies would have to happen for Detroit to consider a deal.Go on...
Honestly? I'm game. That center group compliments the young forward group really well. I would hesitate to trade Kravtsov if Buchnevich is out of the picture. I think any Larkin package starts with Lundkvist and goes from there.Larkin-Chytil-Krebs
Trading Lundkvist over Kravtsov makes a lot more sense in my mind. Jones could fill in for the time being until Schneider is readyHonestly? I'm game. I do think any Larkin deal involving him going to the Rangers would happen next summer when the Rangers would be able to discuss an extension with him.Trading Lundkvist over Kravtsov makes a lot more sense in my mind. Jones could fill in for the time being until Schneider is ready

I also would not have given up a premium prospect and a 1st rounder when Larkin can just as well bolt in 2023.I believe the deal that Stevie Y wanted from Drury was Kravy or Nils with the 15th overall. Im all in on Larkin but the 1st rounder is tougher to give up in this draft

October 13 seems soooooo far away.
I am hoping it results in even cheaper ticketsSpeaking specifically about Arizona, they have an awful drafting history. They haven't had a lot of top five picks but when they did, they royally screwed it up. They haven't done much better beyond that either.
They have clearly signaled their intention to tank this (and probably next) season. So far this summer, they have acquired six players who could have been bought out or buried in the minors. They have accumulated a lot of draft picks over the next couple of years for taking on this dreck.
What is awful (living here) is that the last time they went all out to tank (2015), I got to watch some of the worst hockey I've seen in years. I worked in minor league hockey and I can tell you what I saw here was as bad as anything I ever saw in the old Eastern League. I think of that year and see a "coming soon" on this season.
This season, the Coyotes move into the much tougher Central Division. With a cash poor owner, a depleted roster and for sale signs on the few assets they have left, I just don't know how much life there is left in this franchise. I know that has been said before but this time I think it's a definite reality.
We can always try Atlanta againSpeaking specifically about Arizona, they have an awful drafting history. They haven't had a lot of top five picks but when they did, they royally screwed it up. They haven't done much better beyond that either.

That would literally repeat the arizona issue all over again. There is no way to get to alpharetta without a car. 400 is already a nightmare. If cobb ever developed actual public transportation id say near the braves stadium, but otherwise maybe decatur? Theres some space near the rail yard that would work well.We can always try Atlanta againI honestly think it would work if it was in Far North Atlanta/Alpharetta.
It's sad though. I hope they stick and have god-tier drafts these upcoming years. Land a Bedard or Wright and by some miracle sign Auston Matthews
Where can you see them relocating to? Houston? They have to stay in the Western Conference for balance purposes. Arizona has been nothing but a failure by Bettman, but hey, Auston Matthews wouldn’t exist without a team there.Speaking specifically about Arizona, they have an awful drafting history. That's the problem.. there will most likely never be public transportation going up north. That would literally repeat the arizona issue all over again. Tampa does just fine in Channelside and everyone drives. Jeff Vinik has done a phenomenal job developing the surrounding area.. IMO Tampa is the model to copycat, they created an amazing experience for fans
IMO it would need to be out of the perimeter and north.
