Brooks is unsatisfied with Vesey? A support player who pacing to set career highs in goals and points? Must not have gotten much traffic on the articles that took a level headed approach to things.
I read this article as a direct effect of mass editor layoffs in print journalism

He catered to us already.

Needed to throw something out there for the playoff pals to eat up. From some of the responses in this thread, it worked.

If the Rangers are going to trade Kreider it needs to be another Brassard for Zibanejad type trade. Think Kreider to Boston for Pastrnak and a 2nd. Are they looking to get bigger and stronger?
The Brassard/Zibanejad trade with Boston and Kreider would be like Debrusk and a second for Kreider, definitely not Pastrnak

Would Zucc want to live in and play for Edmonton though? That may not be the right thing to do for him.

Should be no problem, the climate there and way of living is much like his home town. As he said, used to hit town when he was younger, but now for the most part he stays at home on the couch watching tv. So it really doesn't matter to him anymore where he lives.

If you believe Friedman, sounds like the Oilers are really interested in him.

The Rangers are going to be in position to take a forward high in the draft this year if Byram is off the board or the Rangers don't like him.

If the Rangers deal Kreider, I'd look to get defense back.

Kreider to Edmonton for Klefbom and their 2019 1st and 2020 2nd.

Kreider to Dallas for Heiskanen (not happening but can dream)

Kreider to Carolina for Adam Fox, 2019 1st. They want a scoring winger.

Start rebuilding the defense.

14th in the league in scoring. Has more points than:

Stamkos
Ovechkin
Burns
Landeskog
Malkin
Panarin
Aho
Tavares
Eichel
Jon Snow
Guy at the bottom is really about to take off in the 2nd half though. Keep an eye on him! Points are coming along with something else too.

They’ve already started. There’s a huge number of D prospects that weren’t in the org before June 2017.

Not saying we don’t need more or that I don’t like the deals you propose, but the perception seems to be that there hasn’t been a focus on the D, mostly because of the Andersson, Chytil and Kravtsov picks, but they have definitely put an emphasis on it.

That Klefbom deals looks like a slam dunk. There's no way Edmonton says yes.

Can we even get Spooner back this year? Can teams trade a guy back and forth in the same season, what about the thing with his retention? Because if we make an Oilers trade imo it needs a cap anchor (Talbot, Spooner, Lucic but that won't happen) + a lot of futures, and they won't move any of their five or six actual good NHL players

Damn, you are right.

"If a team trades away a player and retains salary in the transaction, that team cannot reacquire the player for one calendar year after the date of the transaction."

If they wouldn't do Pastrnak would they do McAvoy? We could use a defenseman and they have had a revolving door of players on Krejci's wing. We can ship them McQuaid back as part of the deal to help with their depth.

Kreider at 50% and Pionk for Adam Larsson and Puljujärvi

Best argument against that trade — PC would expose previous mistakes even more clear.

I personally have no interest in getting another LD like Klefbom. I wouldn’t be worried about our left side even if we moved all 4 guys we used there this year...
