Top 6 picks this year all seem pretty solid. I like them all between Hughes/Kakko/Dach/Podz/Cozens/Byram. Even if it is Byram I know that will get some eye rolls and "oh no more DMen" highlights but if the Rangers are 6th and he's BPA, go with the BPA. Him and Miller together will be elite skaters on ELCs. Not the worst thing in the world.
Even after 6, there will be some really good talent. Turcotte has been explosive since returning from injury. Broberg is another player that should be available in the mid-1st and has a ton of potential.

The first 6 you highlighted would all be welcomed here with open arms. Can you imagine if we somehow nab Byram and Turcotte? (*/'.')/

I'd say the officiating, AV, and terrible luck were bigger factors in that series.

Saying that Nash was a big reason we didn't win the cup is perfectly fair.

Its just weird to be angry at him about it. The guy had serious and fairly consistent concussions problems. And its not like AV caught him in the locker room beating himself in the head with a bat and that's the reason he was always hurt. I'm sure Nash would have preferred not to be concussed.

Even if it's Byram? One could make a case right now that he should be the 3OA pick.

I would also bunch Boldy into your group. To me, the top-7 is where it's at. But after, you still have a Turcotte, Newhook, Zeagras. Cauflied, Dorofeyev, Nussbaumer later in draft.

Just not well enough to win a cup, I guess?

Like I said its a weird standard to hold players to.
Theres not winning a cup while having Hank's record, and theres not winning a cup while being an 8 million/season forechecker. The only similarity between Hank and Nash is the cap hit.

How is it possible that we are still debating this?

Must......re...sist........

Looking at it honestly they were all factors. Including Nash. Nash was a big one.

Hell even Girardi falling down in OT in game 1 or Hank giving up 3 goals on 15 shots in game 3 were big factors.

Its so odd to be hung up on this stuff.

Who's angry? Why does having a less than effusive opinion about a player have to be equated with hatred or anger? Oh, because its HF Boards.

Well that and neither of them won the cup.

Hearing how terrible Nash was, he probably would have missed his own head if he attempted that.

Edit: We now know how he hurt his groin.

Well you're angry, I would guess. Or if not angry, at least somewhat agitated. Maybe mildly irritated? Like less throwing things around the room and more glaring at your feet because they wont stop itching.

Anyway I was talking about you and I apologize for not making that clearer.

Byram is awesome. I only said "even" because they drafted 746413 DMen last year (also my profile pic) and acquired two in big trades and I know so many people on this board would roll their eyes and think Oh No Another LHD?

Three picks and getting Kakko and then Broberg and Hoglander would be pure comedic gold from a last name POV.

right now, im seeing a second round pick and a prospect as a likely return for zuccarello, but if he can put up some points over the next month and a bit, and the rangers can possibly get calgary and some other teams to get in a bidding war, a first round pick and lower end prospect/mid round pick isnt out of the realm of possibility.

for hayes, rangers get 1st atleast a first and a prospect, because winnipeg and boston are already fighting over him and more teams will join in as deadline nears. not sure how high of a calibre the prospect is, but it's likely a surefire NHL prospect.

if they decide kreider moves too, he gets 1st and a prospect too especially with the extra year on his deal and his breakout this season.

i personally doubt they move kreider this year, i think they keep him and try to resign. not sure which boat i sit in with him, i see the "his value is at an all time high" but also see the "captain material, still young-ish" point too. really depends what his ask is on next deal

this isnt mentioning what fast gets who according to someone fairly credible (i forget) is getting some serious interest, as well as namesnikov and vesey

maybe they dont all get traded, who really knows, but i think the way to go is tear down completely and go for high pick in 2020 (insane draft), + whatever/whoever we get this year

One performed to expectations and one didnt do anything close to it. Just because you don't agree with my position, you don't have to be so positively facetious. It doesn't read well.

The point was to just to underline the fact that using "winning cups" as a baseline for anything is idiotic. There is no point in even bringing them up.

My point was playing to the level expected for your cap hit. But I'm not interested in stooping to childish rhetoric.

54% CF and 1.5 CF Rel.
Also had 45 hits and 12 takeaways while shooting at 3.6%

Yeah he was the reason why we didnt win a cup..... ohhkeyyy
I guess it just depends on the Corsi for the players we could have afforded to add if not for his cap hit and underwhelming performance. All else aside, LAs main advantage over us that season was their insane depth. For his cap hit, we could've had one player doing what Nash was supposed to do for us, or four players doing what he was able to do for us. Thats the whole point.
