Three seasons of Nash drastically underperforming while we choke on his cap hit is heroic.

Three months of Zuccarello struggling is unforgivable and who even cares what he did for us for many seasons now while leaving money on the table.

Ok, I understand now.

There's struggling and there's mailing it in. Nash has never mailed it in like Zucc is now. Just admit you hate the guy.

Zucc will target the Islanders or Devils when he becomes a UFA, I'm pretty sure both teams will be interested in a capfriendly deal for a skilled player with tons of experience. Zucc isn't after the money, but then he can continue to live in New York
Wait. I thought that he could not get traded because:

1) fans rioting with pitchforks
2) Jersey sales

Zuccarello is embarrassing himself nightly anyone that sees otherwise is lying to themselves. This version is a shell a total fraud of who he was

There is literally NO REASON the Rangers can't sign Zuccarello when he reaches UFA. None. If I'm Gorton, I'd be interested in him on a short deal (2 years). He's a great locker room guy and he still produces. In saying that, there is also NO REASON why the Rangers as an organization shouldn't attempt to maximize the asset.

People keep saying these guys love the Rangers. Hayes and Zuccarello. Trade them and see if they will re-sign in the off-season. If they LOVE the organization they will understand that by moving cities for 2-3 months they will speed up the rebuild for the team they are coming back to.

Lol

That’s really saying something huh?

He was an epic fail & cost us a cup.

But hey... reg season right? Pres Trophy Woot!!!!!
Yeah, having the most productive regular season for this franchise in years is something.

I don't see how he cost us a cup and he definitely wasn't an "epic fail"

Top 6 picks this year all seem pretty solid. I like them all between Hughes/Kakko/Dach/Podz/Cozens/Byram. Even if it is Byram I know that will get some eye rolls and "oh no more DMen" highlights but if the Rangers are 6th and he's BPA, go with the BPA. Him and Miller together will be elite skaters on ELCs. Not the worst thing in the world.

Back to Zuc; why should he be resigned? What does he offer anymore? This is not some personal vendetta against him or Norwegian posters in any way lol but answer it. He doesn't deserve PP time and the Rangers have other guys who deserve or need PP time to develop. He's not a great PKer. He's not good defensively anymore. He doesn't win puck battles.

You take the money to resign him and for arguments sake bring in some PKers or budget bin guys/reclamations the forward equivalent of Claesson and that is money much better spent.

This team needs PKers in the worst way. I'd almost rather take a prospect with Blair Betts or Brandon Pust upside who is more likely to become just a 4th liner than a project skilled B tier prospect who will most likely bust in one of the trades. If Zuc for example brings back what Chris Simon did in 04, sign me up.

Couldnt score in a ****ehouse with 8M

That’s how. Jesus people wanna ignore the obv

“Snakebitten, if that shaft wasn’t in the way”

Sorry, I didn't realize he was our only player and that all scoring rested solely on his shoulders.

I’ve said it hundreds of times. I don’t hate the person, I don’t hate the player. The contract sucked. I’ve never met Nash, but I’ve watched the teams he played for not win cups because we couldn’t afford supporting talent and he wasn’t producing anything close to the level we were paying him.

Well you wrote "no cup". I mean Lundqvist gets paid 8.5 million and doesn't have a cup. It's a weird standard. I get being annoyed at Nash for being a disappointment but you seem to be kind of all over the map with your criticisms.
Unlike Nash, Hank does his job.

He has the highest PP point rate of his career so far this year.

Nash very obviously returned from the concussion too early in 13-14.

Also, Voynov’s stick blocking that shot in OT was the luckiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Reasons the Rangers did not win the cup:
1) The Kings beating the Hawks (CHI would’ve been a much better matchup that I’m convinced they would’ve thrived with)
2) The Kings being straight up better
3) Questionable coaching decisions

For a team that went to the SCF it seems like a lot of people here didn’t pay attention to them.
