We traded for his contract. It wasn’t blind.
Glen Sather is sorta blind.

Yes! There you go! Move the goalposts enough and you'll find your argument. They can be conditional on passing a physical, though
Tell that to Don Sweeney and the Bruins that gave us a warm body, a 1st, and a decent prospect for a player that just announced his retirement today.Zuccarello is trending downward in points but I would assume majority of GMs in the league would know Zuccarello has more to offer than what he is showing currently with the Rangers. Put him on a contending team with capable line mates and he will be a 60 point player again, barring injuries. Do not believe the third round nonsense, it is complete and utter bull****. I am still going with either a late first, or a second and a fairly halfway decent prospect. GMs are not that willing to part ways with first rounders anymore unless they have some control of the asset after the season.
There’s a sucker born every minute.Tell that to Don Sweeney and the Bruins that gave us a warm body, a 1st, and a decent prospect for a player that just announced his retirement today.
RB, I’m happy they won those games. While I’m not happy the loss last night, I’ve seen some real growth in the last two games.
Sorry but I am not rooting for a ****show here this year. It’s bad enough now and it will get worse after the trade deadline. I’ve seen how bad it can get in Arizona (and for all their trouble, they drafted Dylan Strome)
As long as I pay for tickets, I want an honest effort to winnever6 night.
That’s great news...maybe we will draft a Sam Bennett or Griffin Reinhardt! It guarantees a top-4 pick. PROVE ME WRONG.
We also don’t know that Nash was willing to continue playing for less than what he was making. The assertion was that he was doing the right thing by not taking another contract. No evidence has been presented that he made any such decision. Just some hearsay that there were offers. Who is the one moving the goalposts?Yes! There you go! Wish Nash well.
That being said he was a complete failure here. Especially in the post season.
Or a Mitch Marner/Seth Jones/Nicklas Backstrom/Ryan Johansen/etc.That’s great news...maybe we will draft a Sam Bennett or Griffin Reinhardt!
So long ago, and no cup."Complete failure" is pretty dramatic imo. He had the most productive season anyone has had on this team in years.
If we can’t get a 1st, or a 2nd and a prospect for Zucc, extend him.
Ok, then every player we've had for decades is a complete failure. So long ago, and no cup.

Define ‘wasting cap space’ during a rebuildWould be so dumb.
Just because you don't get the return you should have gotten for him last year doesn't mean you should waste cap space on a declining asset.
8 million per season is the context that everyone seems to want to forget in this argument.Ok, then every player we've had for decades is a complete failure.
I'll never understand how people are somehow always shocked that the last years of a huge retirement deal see the player underperform.
Having a player sulking around is a great environment for players to get introduced to the leagueDefine ‘wasting cap space’ during a rebuild

If you sign a guy to an 8 year 8 million dollar deal in his mid/late twenties and you expect him to earn that 8M in the last year, the issue is mostly that your expectations aren't in line with reality.8 million per season is the context that everyone seems to want to forget in this argument.
Three seasons of Nash drastically underperforming while we choke on his cap hit is heroic.Having a player sulking around is a great environment for players to get introduced to the league
LeBrun has always hated the Rangers. Can't wait to see his smug face go sour when the team is contending again.
Ferland is one of the better bottom six forwards in the league, but come on now. If Ferland is worth a 1st and a prospect, so is Zuccarello.
3rd rounder for Zuccarello my ass.
What has Zuccarello done for the Rangers that Nash hasn’t? When did Nash sulk his way through a season because he might be traded? Is this the struggling Zuccarello we’re going to see moving forward and if so why not take what’s available for him now before no one even wants him?Three seasons of Nash drastically underperforming while we choke on his cap hit is heroic.
Three months of Zuccarello struggling is unforgivable and who even cares what he did for us for many seasons now while leaving money on the table.
Ok, I understand now.
