The only thing going on in Hartford is winning. So shockingly guys dogging it like Lias and Gropp and for a bit Kravtsov were called out for it and didn’t like it. There’s accountability down there. Buy in or don’t play.
Andersson is alleging he was made to play while injured. That's not accountability, or good personnel management, or a good thing to have broadcast to future picks or NCAA signees. If true, its a failure.

he didn’t say that at any point. So let’s cool it there.

didn't he also claim that he can't get his feet into his skates? if so then how did they force him to play?

“Andersson said he was dealing with a lower-body injury, which didn’t keep him from missing a game with the Wolf Pack, where he had four goals and five points in 13 games between his demotion on Nov. 17 and his trade request just after Dec. 18.”

That’s the quote from the Post article. At no point does he even come close to alleging he was forced to play with an injury.

You don't leave that call up to a 21 year old trying to get back up to the big club. If he kept it from the team? Ok. If they knew and they left it up to him, its the same as telling him he'd better shut up and get out there.

My only question about the Rangers making him play injured while up in NY is that he wasn't a major part of the team, so why make him play? Why not just rest him and do the due diligence with doctors? Hartford was doing well before he went down. Why would they force him to play injured? What benefit do they get out of it? Considering everyone is making conclusions based on only fragments of reports, regardless of who is at fault (likely shared), it is probably best to let time sort out the details.

Gropp sucks and didn't want to go to the ECHL in his third professional season. Why is this mentioned as something indicative of a problem in our organization? It indicates poor scouting, but nothing more. You know what? It might happen with Ronning, who also sucks, within the next year as well. Why these guys would be mentioned alongside LA and VK is mystifying.

Also, Meskanen? Every team takes flyers on undrafted Euros and more often than not, they don't work out. When that happens, they usually go the mutual contract termination route. This is not noteworthy. We've done it many times before, as has every other team. He left this year because he actually had a decent year last season, but appeared to not be in the plans for Hartford this year.

Is there a feeling that anything is imminent with Vegas or are we just keeping tabs on Tuch the same way we keep tabs on Willy Nylander?

Like I said Rangers wont change anything unless the scouting changes. Playoff teams produce better prospects than NYR has. Not signing Barclay Goodrow but Kyle Jean is a perfect example of this. Scouting is awful in my opinion.

That has not been alleged. There's a shoddy translation that makes that claim, but even that doesn't come from Andersson directly. Or, it's not attributed to him.

If he had a serious foot injury that he really couldn't play through and the Rangers forced him to? That's a serious grievance that the NHLPA would love to file. So unless he chose to forfeit his pay by going MIA rather than taking his case to the NHLPA, either the injury wasn't as severe as the translated article is implying or he hid it from the team.

I’d be thrilled to get tony on that deal but that might not be doable.

I think you’re looking at a 2 or 3 year deal around 5 mil with the last year being the high point

We have Kakko, Chytil, Kravtsov, Miller, Shesterkin, Georgiev, Skjei, Buchnevich, Jones, Hendrickson, Lundqvist, Gross, Howden, and Barron as young players in this organization, I dont understand how anyone can be disappointed in this scouting department. Every team misses on some, it happens, since Gorton took over he has more hits than misses imo. He has found some late round guys that can play which is what you want. Lias, I have no idea what's up with him but hopefully he gets it together enough so we can trade him.

There were multiple teams in on Goodrow. He chose San Jose. It happens. We tried to sign Marchessault--he wanted an easier path to the NHL and signed elsewhere. We're in on UDFAs all the time that sign elsewhere and it's not for lack of effort or due diligence. Like we had our hands all over Zaitsev. He didn't want to sign. It happens.

Also, it was Jean over Matt Read, not Goodrow. THAT was poor scouting. I don't know if we tried to sign Read, though. Never got positive confirmation on that.

Gropp was a bad pick. But otherwise I'm not interested in going down this rabbit hole again.

With Andersson I'd bet he felt personal pressure to play, that if he took a break then he would be screwing himself; and that just developed into a vicious circle. It is a rough situation for anyone, let alone a young guy.

Rasmus Anderson is another one I just smack my forehead and mutter what an utter failure the 2015 draft was

I really just don't see an enticing package to put together for any of our younger defensemen from Vegas. A futures package for some of our less valuable pieces, sure, but they've also pillaged a lot of their future for immediate success.
