I'm doubtful anyone that isnt underperforming and on a contract past this year will be traded. ie Kreider,Zibanajad etc. Hayes and Zuc are gone, I still believe Hayes would have been signed long term last summer if they intended on keeping him and giving him a NTC, I dont think their stance has changed unless ofcourse they cant get what they want for him.

Kreider just isn't going to return a guaranteed top 10 pick
He had better. A legit top line power forward who is still young and under contract for next year? If you want him, you can have him. But your franchise is going to wince. This guy can help ANY team for quite a long, long time. You better believe that a top 10 pick, your very top 1 OR two prospects and THEN a young position player. NOTHING and NO ONE is off the table when it comes to acquiring Krieder.

I mean, Stepan did. I don’t think it’s that outlandish. A possible Jack Hughes pick is a different story...but at the draft if it’s say #5?
If they want Kreider, they cannot come to the Rangers with a list of protected picks or prospects that are off the table. And that is in any combination.

So if I understand the point you've made eight times in the past two pages correctly, if a team wants Kreider but they don't want to give up their top prospect, you would be ok with that?

Jeff Skinner is a legit top line power figure skater and 3 time 30 goal scorer in the NHL (a feat that Kreider has never accomplished) and he was traded for a 2nd, 3rd, 6th and poo.

These Kreider trade return expectations are outrageous

Nobody falls in love with their own players worse than Rangers fans.

If they offer the best return, sure

Was thinking more of taking a contract like Coburn off their hands, maybe the deal is their 1st(the one we would get if they won) their 2nd(the one we get if they lose) and a prospect and Coburn for Zuc. Not sure if that works out or not. So basically we would guarantee we got both the 1st and the 2nd whether they won or not , Coburn til years end and a prospect for Zuc, and they get Zuc for a prospect and a pick. Or maybe its Callahan...but I'm less intrigued by the extra year.

Completely agree.

Lateral moves won't get anything done. Namestinkov has been very useful. If we find someone who wants him now, and they wanna pay, great. If not, next deadline.
Bang ON ! Lateral moves no good . He has performed well for us . Could be a glue guy and a darn good bottom 6 guy with some heart and tenacity . Can't have all figure skaters out there .

Like Pollock sending Ralph Backstrom to LA to make them better such that they finished ahead of Oakland in the standings thus protecting Habs chance of getting Guy LaFleur since they traded Hickey for him with the Seals ! Hey...likely before a lot of people's time on here...but it worked ! If it means we get better ...go for it ...and get TB's pick for their Cup win helped by Rangers .

Maybe they want namenstikov back. He did awfully well there.

Stepan was slow, bald, had a bad contract, never won a single faceoff, and brought Whiskers with him.
We got leveraged. No one else was bidding and his NMC was kicking in momentarily. Chayka held firm and we blinked. He was degrading and we took a take it or leave it offer. Kreider is no such scenario.

What's giggle-able is regarding Skinner as a legit top liner prior to this season. He had concussion issues, poor seasons and a team hell bent on moving him.
