Also Brooklyn-born, SI raised, and currently playing well but not well enough to break the bank on us next summer. If we could get him signed for around 4-4.5 for 4 years he can be a valuable player in our top-9. Definitely a shooting threat as well, though his numbers don't make it seem that way. This kid has got a good shot. I've been a fan of Labanc, I think he has put it together and could benefit under Quinn's coaching. For once I will have to agree with a Larry proposal despite the fact that I think it has no legs.
I would bridge him at something between 2.5-3

Guess Panarin is a bad signing then. Shame.

Thank you!
FYI MoneyPuck has a glossary and really good references. Evolving-Hockey does too but they’re a little more complicated. Natural Stat Trick has a ton of info. They’re all free. HockeyViz has great visuals but you have to pay to use their tools.

There’s not enough depth on wing to move both Kreider and Buchnevich

Kakko and Panarin are locked in on the wing but who else is playing there long term?

Kravstov is still a big unknown at this point
Yep. Wing depth is a big weakness organizationally. Wouldn't be shocked if we see a D traded for a winger who's somewhat established soon enough

So do I frankly. I think Kravtsov is basically what we hoped Buchnevich would be. And Buchy at 3.5 mil is a good deal but Buchy and his warts at 5 plus mil? I’d rather move him.

With Buch, we must ask ourself, where will he be in 3-4 years?

It’s of course not proof of anything regarding Buch, but it’s important to remember that Ziba wasn’t better than Buch is right now at the same age. I think Buch is much better this year than last, and last year he was much better than the year before, and so forth. Why would that development curve stop today? Can’t he grow more physically? I would bet on that he has a lot of room physically. Does he have the drive? Is the head there? It’s hard to know.

I like a lot of what I am seeing from Buch.

I don’t see a path unless you mean he sustains a major injury, and is willing to sign for a lot less than market. I don’t think the Rangers have any intention of resigning him. Its seemed like that for awhile now, and a so far disappointing year certainly shouldn’t change that. It’s never smart to say 100% ... but it’s def something I’m EXTREMELY comfortable predicting. Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple Brooks articles in the post about being in contact etc... like they did with Hayes.
The path is he and Gorton come together on a deal that is beneficial to both parties and Krieder is as a part of the leadership group on the other side. Which means that it is probably Buch that gets dealt.

Again, just theoretical.

Absolutely. He's not part of the solution here. I don't see him as the playoff type. Maybe if you put him with two stars but to me, he's run his course here. No loss as far as I'm concerned. Unless they get blown away, I think they sign DeAngelo to a 4 y, 18 million deal. Let him play one more year here, let Lundkvist play one year for the Pack and then deal DeAngelo. Me, I'd use him to go after Cozens. Bring Keane up and see what you have. I doubt they do that.

Do you try and do a deal like Buchnevich and Howden for Puljujarvi and Benson? I would.

Pulju has very little value in my opinion. Perimeter player in the Finnish leagues.
