The players on the ice carry most of the blame

Then the coach, then the GM.

That said, I want both GM and HC along with Mika, CK, Panarin and Laf all gone

The GM has had 4 years to build this team, it's gotten worse not better. Move on from him, new gm brings his staff, move Kreider, Mika if you can, but this GM has dug a hole for whoever takes over and there is a ton of damage done.

One of my former sources called me today (retired NHL executive) His message was pretty straightforward — several of the Rangers are fighting for their futures right now. If the team makes the playoffs, there will be changes but they may be measured. If the Rangers miss the playoffs the truck will be backed up. He thinks Laviolette and Drury are both on the edge and he suggested if the Rangers are eliminated, both may go before the end off the season.

It sure doesn't look like anyone is fighting for their NYR existence.

Seems like they are CLEARLY sending the message that they WANT to be moved.

If what we are seeing is desperation, then Holy Shit.........

They won the President's Trophy last year. This season was a disappointment but the woe is me stuff from Rangers fans is part of this culture too. We have no patience and are not owed anything just because the team has been around longer than most. Move on from the vets who have been here 7, 8, 9+ years and haven't gotten it done. The younger part of the roster is absolutely salvageable. We'll compete next year as long as this loser mentality is done away with.
Finally!
I have been preaching this for a bit now.
So you are ready to join team bernmeister?

You do realize that Zibanejad is ahead of Kreider in being "one of our best ever Fs" with 200 games less played?
Which is entirely irrelevant.
And again, since you obv need for me to repeat it, there is a HUGE dif.
Kreider has been stud enuf to do all the dirty work in front of the net and get beat up.
Your wimp Meeka telegraphs his exaggerated 1 timer like he's Bobby Hull, and while not useless, is not the dominant force you infer.

Also most pronouncedly KREIDER IS AND HAS BEEN INJURED.
HE HAS A JUSTIFIED REASON FOR DECLINE
Zib .. does NOT.

No thanks, why would we want him in charge of any other moves especially when he's turned this team into a dumpster fire? Kreider is gone, Mika may or may not be because of his trade protection, that's all that's left. I for one don't want him in charge of a Kreider trade given all the "guys they have been targeting for a while" can't get into this shit lineup. Kreider should have a good return, as much as he's sucked this year I think most around the league realize he's not 100%. I could see us getting a Rick Nash type haul for him, I dont want Drury in charge of that. Drury should have been gone before the Kakko trade. He actually should have been gone when we started the season with Trouba on the roster, he bundled that big time by not getting his no trade list before making a deal. He's toast and I want another gm.
CK will not provide a good return, he is damaged goods.
We are better off trying the conditional retirement rote I explained earlier, if that is real, which being different from a straight buy out, expect it would be

We dont know what either gm will do to be honest, why didn't Drury trade Kreider last summer? Lame duck GM's dont make trades for future success, they make them for right now, we need a long term plan and a gm with new ideas on how to be successful.
Nice that you too are now coming around

this team needs bernmeister outside the box thinking

I don’t know man. The guy can barely move.
He’ll be healthy by the start of next season. He’s absolutely trade-able and the return will be better than we think. The contract is not an issue. All GMs will see is a veteran guy with pedigree who scores 30 goals and had a down year because of injuries and a toxic atmosphere. Its happened over and over again in the NHL

OOPS! There is a problem…

I can’t decide what has been the bigger shambles the past 2 weeks…HFBoards / Xenforo apparently being run by a guy who eats Cheetos all day instead of maybe testing a backup once in a while, or the Rangers.

This season has been as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist, which is why you need to enjoy seasons like last year despite not winning the Cup in the end. It’s not all the same shit, Ricky Bobby.

The team was built, it made 2 conference finals.

After last seasons failure, this was always going to be a transition year.

It's showing.

People thinking Kreider has no value in a trade this summer are seriously out to lunch. He's injured, there's absolutely teams that will give us good value for him. Say what you want but he's a great penalty killer, excellent net front player and when healthy can skate with anyone. His value is similar to Rick Nash when we moved him

Honestly Bern, it is sad at this point.

There is always risk-reward
The extent to which he is healthy is first part of that equation.
Next is how likely is it to reoccur

Chytil/Ekblad/Byram/Juulsen
value down not only due to concussion, but increased risk to generic player another concussion will be signif
also
Eichel = offers were properly down b'c he wanted a specific procedure and if that did not work out, catastrophe

Honestly Bern, it is sad at this point.
That's your opinion, and even tho it is wrong, you are entitled to it

Yeah, zib has mo pts in less games
But there are other factors to consider, which you conveniently ignore

up until now due to injury, Kreider is prob only guy on the team giving legit beast factor

and it was Kreider who saved our bacon last POs, not your piece of shit Zib

finally, your opinion does not qualify you to judge me...
take that and stuff it

You have no guarantee of that....back injuries are probably the most unpredictable of all injuries.

I don't know if they can do in the same offseason, but Panarin and Zibanejad should not be back.

You can get a really good return on both. I think Mika post 4 Nations has been good and teams will value him as a 2C and I think with his level of play going up, we'll see teams that need a boost to their top 6 come knocking.

Panarin has been the offense on some of these nights, but he needs to be moved out too. Teams are going to lose out on Marner (if he gets to free agency) and a 1 year go with Panarin might suit them better.

Speaking of free agency, prices are going up. This is the first class in a while with cap increases. Some teams won't be able to play in the deep end, and I think the prices could produce a more robust trade market for players with term.

I am actually more upset with last night's loss than the previous debacle against Calgary. The talent gap between the Leafs and the Rangers is staggering. What is upsetting is that I just don't see a way for us to close the gap over the next few years realistically.

But, there are ways of being competitive when you don't have the skills to match the elite teams.

You need a defensive head coach first and foremost, who will install a system and make players defensively accountable, not only the actual D but the forwards. That coach is not Lavy. I don't know who it is, or who is out there, but continuing with our current coaching staff is not going to cut it.

We must be a hard-nosed, hard-working team. We know there are teams out there known for their work effort. That is not the current group. It does mean, younger, hungry players. We don't have many, but they must play bigger roles. Any moves we make must be to bring in this kind of player.

I've come to the opinion that we must cut back to the bone. Not easy to do with the Zib, CK, Panarin contracts. Frankly, to me the only untouchables on the team or Shesty and Cuylle. I guess Perrault should be included. I'm willing (easy for me to say) to get rid of everyone else, including Fox.

I fear, unless there is a drastic overall, we are in for a few really hard years.
Turk Gallant took an EXPANSION TEAM to the Cup Finals....let that sink in . He had two great years in NY and then they fired him because Drury PISSED him off and the players ....the same ones we talk about here ....quit on him . Bust them up and find guys that work for their next contracts .....I doubt Turk ever comes back here so we will need to find a coach elsewhere that the guys will play for and guy that play for each other ....
