I think there's definetely room for an expanded deal with Buffalo.

Power/Byram, McLeod and Peterka all make sense.

What would Buffalo want? Laffy? definitely Schneider. Would Kreider waive? would they want him? What other NHL ready prospect?

Doubt they move power but get me all their RFAs. Bryam, McLeod and Peterka.

If Drury can pull that off, @Tob will kiss him in the mouth

Let me be brave enough to admit that I don’t know what Drury thinks about our players or who he would target on other teams.

TSN never had it in the first place to be fair. It came from the Buffalo beat and national guys seravalli and renaud picked up on it. It does seem to not be originating with the rangers, for whatever that is worth.

not terribly surprising the Peterka reports may have cooled. Serevalli did say on TV last night that Adams had an offer from the Rangers he needed to consider over night.

So maybe he didn’t like it
 
In terms of what NYR could trade for Peterka…

As much as I would like it to be Schneider, doubt the Sabres would want the main piece back to be a RD given they have Dahlin and Power on the right side locked up long term. Lol at Fox going there to be their 3rd pair RD.

Lafreniere is probably what is on the table. I do think it’s puzzling that Buffalo would want his contract when the whole premise behind JJP being available is their owner not wanting to pay him? But maybe the cost certainty w Laf is appealing.

If neither of those two then you’re looking at some combo of Miller, Cuylle, whatever 1st Pens don’t get, Gabe, Othmann, Jones.

Miller only makes sense if they are moving Byram, which is in the rumor mill. TBH not sure how I would feel about that given state of NYR LD.

Sabres also rumored to not want futures. They can get picks if he signs an offer sheet.

Sabres are the ones who are feeling the heat to make moves. They can hang on to peterka but rumor is he aint signing there. Drury can be patient and go for him in the summer. he could even have the wherewithal to offer sheet him this summer if we are able to move some of the 3 Stooges money. No pressure to make that type of deal today, as much as I would love the aggressiveness.

They don't think moving Peterka is the young player Adam's is listening on and they don't think Peterka is who they want to deal. Said they think Cozens is in play. Didn't say anything that I heard about any of their 5 LHD. Though I am working a bit this morning so there may have been more. It's on ESPN+ if anyone has it.

That's fair. Maybe trying to squash something they didn't break or else people will realize them and their show is useless.

After Cozens failed to step up for his captain after the whistle multiple times yesterday, i would not be surprised to see him traded. But I dont think it will be here given Drury's recent trend with players he acquires.

Buffalo is very much like Winnipeg as in they like guys to have term. The location isn't super desirable so it's hard for them if they don't have assets with term.
